Groupe Veritas - General Manager - Logistics - Bulk & Container Business (13-17 yrs)
1. To lead and direct logistics/ supply chain operations in the Bulk and Container Business
2. To manage and coordinate pan-India logistics network, warehouse, transportation and vendor relationships and custom operations as well
3. Liaising with stakeholders and working closely with different functions to ensure the highest level of efficiency
4. Managing a team of more than 15 professionals and responsible for their growth in the organization
II. Essential Functions :
Essential Function & Measurable Outcomes :
1.0 To lead and direct logistics/ supply chain operations for Bulk and Container Business
1.1 To ensure smooth, safe and timely delivery of cargo - Implement logistics processes with a focus on sea and road logistics along with freight negotiation, contract finalization with commercial acumen.
1.2 Responsible for establishing the local shore base and develop the supply chain, including logistic support.
1.3 Implement company standard work procedures in inventory, demurrage, delivery and distribution
- Responsible to control all incoming & outgoing material and receipts along with handling all logistics/ transportation.
- Developing and confirming schedules.
1.4 Counsel for transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency booking of Vessel & keep a track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
1.5 Responsible for route map planning along with managing, developing and strengthening the local logistics team
1.6 Optimize warehouse and deployment schedules, carrier equipment, mode, lane costs, and customer on time delivery
1.7 To maximize the profit and minimize the transportation cost.
2. Documentation, Compliance & MIS - Distribution, Warehouse, Transportation, Vendor/ Customs
2.1 Documentation
a. Ensure proper clearance and forwarding documentation, including transit documents and customs clearances, exits for shipments
b. Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed and released to forwarders, customers and agents in a timely manner
c. Prepare all paperwork for regulatory bodies and comply with all required Laws, Rules & Regulations.
d. Maintain the documents of agreements, invoice, contracts,
2.2 Manage budget on warehousing and freight in relations to the logistics operations in entirety
2.3 Coordinate and ensure that accurate MIS reports are submitted to the Management daily, monthly etc. as per schedule on time
2.4 Vendor Management :
a. Set up new worldwide agents and liaise with various transport agencies for services pan-India
b. Negotiate rate contracts with preferred clearing and forwarding agents to minimize costs
c. Analyze and negotiate rate contracts with various vendors in relation to cost and services provided by them (Warehouse, Bunker, FW & Demurrage)
2.5 Improve existing processes and procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of local and global operations thereby reducing the administrative burden and costs of the company
3.0 Liaising with stakeholders and working closely with different functions to ensure the highest level of efficiency
3.1 Coordinate with cross-functional teams(Operations, Marketing, Procurement), seek field feedback and track results
3.2 Act as a single point of contact for local government bodies, agents, vendors and ships for supply of various items, inward / outward clearances and documentation of the entire fleet.
3.3 Solve problems by considering courses of action within the framework of management goals and standards
3.4 Co-operate and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers.
3.5 Solve conflicts/disputes arising during the transportation process.
4.0 Managing a team of more than 15 professionals and responsible for their growth in the organisation
