Hardware Layout Design (10-16 yrs)
Hardware Designer (layout) - is mainly responsible for Hardware Layout Development for the product.
Main activities/responsibilities :
- Responsible for Design and reviewing Layout Activities.
- Responsible for creation of Gerber file and need to coordinate for production for PCBA
- Coordinate with team for new footprint creation and support for component selection.
- Understanding of design guidelines for EMI /EMC, and Thermal consideration.
- Coordination with various design team to freeze PCB layout design.
- Able to work effectively with Cross function teams to meet defined deadlines and time constraints.
Key Skills
- Understanding of microcontroller / SOC -based layout design. (like Renesas, Cypress, NXP etc.) design for automotive applications.
- Layout development CAD environments. Allegro, Altium, Pads or equivalent.
- PCB Design understanding for Power Electronics (High Side Driver / Low side Driver selection, Motor Driver), Able to design multi later (6-layer, 8 layer or more) PCB layout design
- Understanding of RF antenna design for BLE, Wi-Fi, GSM, GPS will add advantage.
- Understanding of high-speed design for TFT/ LCD based products and knowledge of DDR memory designs.
- Able to provide design guidelines for trouble shooting in case of any EMI EMC issues.
- Knowledge of EMI EMC testing standards and compliances.
- Knowledge of various PCB manufacturing technologies and cost impact.
- Optical components and interface knowledge (LCD, LED, TFT. etc.)
