Head - Civil Constructions (15-18 yrs)
Objective of this Role:
The primary objective of this role is to lead and oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects, ensuring that all phases- pre-construction, construction, and post-construction- are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with client requirements and industry standards. The role is responsible for managing project risks, ensuring safety compliance, coordinating with stakeholders, maintaining quality control, and leading a team to successfully deliver projects while ensuring client satisfaction and seamless handovers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute construction projects across pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases, ensuring all phases are completed efficiently.
- Manage and mitigate potential project delays, such as unsafe practices, to keep the project on track.
- Maintain and update critical project documents like the directory, risk register, and execution plan throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all construction plans and material specifications are client-approved before implementation to meet project requirements.
- Review and approve project schedules, aligning them with client needs and organizational standards.
- Conduct pre-construction meetings with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring proper planning and resource allocation.
- Oversee the complete project lifecycle, from securing permits to final project closure, ensuring quality materials and services are used.
- Manage environmental, health, and safety protocols at project sites, including organizing toolbox meetings and safety orientations.
- Prepare weekly project reports detailing dependencies, risks, escalations, and project progress, ensuring transparency with stakeholders.
- Lead a team of project managers or coordinators, ensuring projects are delivered according to client expectations and all required documentation is completed for a seamless handover.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
- Relevant professional certifications
- Solid experience in construction project management with minimum 15 years of experience.
- Estimating experience
- Experience working with MS Projects and/or related project management software
- Experience with design/build, pricing and equipment productivity, derivation of labour rates, etc
- Prior demonstrated experience leading and managing a team of project managers and / or coordinators
