Head - Engineering Design (10-15 yrs)
Job Description :
Role Title Head : Engineering
Reporting to : Managing Director
Purpose :
- Manage design & engineering development cycle, starting from project vision to implementation at site
- Manage external Architects and Project Consultants
- Evaluating technology and methods to enable efficient and timely execution of projects at reduced cost
Key Responsibilities :

- Support in defining product standards and defining design brief
- Ensure design efficiency, standardization, optimization and value engineering across projects
- Evaluation of project concept and design in line with project business plan and statutory requirements
- Drive appointment and managing Architects and project consultants
- Ensure effectiveness of coordination between consultants and cross function teams
- Assist in technical feasibility related to potential opportunities identified, when required
- Manage design process with respect to project conceptualization, design delivery, coordination with consultants, change management and value engineering
- Ensure adherence to standard procedures and controls with respect to procedures such as drawing management, version control and drawing management process
- Provide inputs and devise methods that will help in saving cost or improve the speed of construction
- Ensure timely delivery of drawings at site to facilitate the work completion in predefined timelines
- Ensure preparation of master schedules and schedules for different stages on the project
- Formulation of budgets for various stages of the project
- Define project monitoring guidelines, reporting parameters and procedures
- Monitoring project performance and monthly reporting to management
- Undertake an in-depth study to of project plan to identify significant risks to timely project completion
- Analyze the reports to identify deviations from project plan, quality standards and inefficient use of resources
- Participate in project review and coordination meetings- Providing inputs on execution capabilities, resource requirements, etc.
- Lead the resource planning exercise with Head - Projects to determine range and scale of resources required
- Manage project risks through risk management frameworks, periodic monitoring and mitigation planning
- Periodic monitoring of team's performance and providing corrective action as and when required
- Drive and encourage initiatives to implement a performance oriented, innovative and quality and cost conscious culture
