Head - Engineering - Power/Energy/Oil & Gas (20-30 yrs)
Job Summary :
- Responsible for managing the engineering activities necessary to plan, design, license, construct, and start up new power plants.
- Manages projects from original concept through final implementation and is responsible for administrative/operational/technical leadership of the project(s) including managing of budget.
- Defines project scope and objectives. Assembles project teams assigns individual responsibilities, develops project schedules, and is responsible for determining and acquiring resources needed.
- Must be familiar with the entire scope and requirements of the project(s) and serve as liaison between team members and functional area management requesting project.
- Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
- May identify, evaluate and hire outside contractors as needed throughout all phases of development, and coordinate with internal technical functions.

- Oversees one or more smaller or medium-sized projects or a major subcomponent of a large project or projects of moderate risk.
- Makes decisions regarding own work, often in ambiguous situations; makes recommendations regarding own function/discipline.
- Solves operational problems and associated technical issues; modifies existing tools, techniques, or processes.
- Works on problems of moderate complexity.
- Uses independent judgment within defined policies and practices. Interprets guidelines, and selects methods, techniques, and analytical approaches.
- Little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
- May be designated project or technical lead for an ongoing process or short-term project within own department.
- Information sharing - gives and receives information such as options, technical direction, instruction, and reporting results.
Job Requirements :
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Requires 20+ years of experience managing a portion of a large project or independently leading a small project.
- Working knowledge of a wide variety of project management tools, processes, and methods.
Product experience :
- Boilers (Stoker fired, AFBC, CFBC) for Biomass/coal, MSW, cement WHR, Coke over WHR, BFG, Oil & Gas, WHR for SIPs, Zinc, SAP, etc.
- EPC projects (Biomass, Co-generation, Captive, Waste to energy, Factories for Railways, Bulk material handling, Water/wastewater treatment)
