5. Job Location : Lagos
Job Objectives :
- Head Engineering's Job is to lead the engineering function to cover both maintenance and projects.
- To supervise overall maintenance, repair and installation operations for factory as well as residential apartments.
- The job is to ensure all machines, technical equipment and other utilities are in working conditions all the time at factory as well as residential areas.
- To actively involved in projects, plan and organize timelines and ensure completion.
- To build a proper maintenance team and to focus on building their competence and skills to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Job Requirements :
1. Bachelor or Master's degrees in Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
2. Experience of minimum 15 years out of which minimum 5 years must be with food processing industry.
3. The candidate would be needed with team handling experience of minimum 10-12 people.
4. Well versed with international standards like ISO 9001, FSMS, HACCP etc.
5. As per the need of the business the job is transferrable and posting can be made anywhere in Nigeria/West Africa.
Job Responsibilities :
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
- Duties include the following, measurable in terms of time, cost, quality or quantity.
Strategic Responsibility :
- To plan project executions at various levels and ensure they meet time lines.
- To plan, organize and supervise the overall preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance in Factory as well as Residential Premises.
- To implement effective maintenance tools and strategies to increase overall process efficiency and educate the Maintenance Team and Contractors accordingly.
Day to Day Management :
- To organize, direct and supervise daily, weekly and monthly schedule job among maintenance team and respective contractors.
- To monitor the completion of job assigned through frequent field observation and inspections to ensure compliance with standards, instructions and time frame as necessary.
- To educate technical team by establishing regular meetings, programs/seminars in the area of skill development, knowledge enhancement, utility usage, housekeeping etc.
- To facilitate with Factory Manager and Head Operations and keep factory in inspection ready condition all the time.
- To achieve regular process audit inspection to ensure Housekeeping, safety of plants, personnel and environment through the proper implementation of EHS.
- To supervise quality standards work on implementation of GMP, HACCP & ISO.
Operational Targets :
- To achieve project completion and share regular work progress in time.
- To monitor achievement against Plant Machineries and Utilities Operating Efficiency, Overall Equipment Efficiency, Breakdown cost and Maintenance Budget monitoring and reporting.
Key Projects :
- To assess the various information tools, identify cost optimization opportunities and pinpoint bottleneck areas to further increase plant productivity, rejection control and resources utilitization.
- Identify new projects and opportunities for improvement and take responsibility for its successful execution after approval from Factory Manager and Head Operations.
Budget :
- To prepare and recommend monthly budget and monitor financial performance verses the budget to ensure business alignment.
- People Management : Manages to effective communication by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, providing of formal and informal feedback on performance and training needs - in order to maximize subordinate and department performance.
- To ensure that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner
Reporting :
- To prepare all applicable reports in time for accuracy and in order to ensure that they match the functional requirements, policies and standards.
- To maintain appropriate documentation of maintenance schedules, history cards, equipment installation, structural repairs and work orders and other operating reports.
Safety Health & Environment :
- Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures across the department in order to promote a healthy and safe work environment.
Related Assignment :
- To perform other related duties or assignment as and when assigned.
