About Job:

The Head of Logistics and Dispatch will oversee and manage the logistics operations for AGSI. This includes the planning, coordination, and execution of the transportation/imports of raw materials and distribution of finished goods. The Head of Logistics and Dispatch will ensure that all logistics functions are optimized for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. He/ She will be responsible for the entire logistics and dispatch process for Dimensions of the job:

Duties are carried out for the company and all its subsidiaries, associated and connected entities.

Principle accountabilities, role and responsibilities

1. Logistics Planning and Coordination:

- Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective movement/imports of raw materials and finished steel products.

- Coordinate with suppliers, production teams, and customers to ensure smooth flow of goods to meet production and delivery schedules.

- Ensure alignment between internal production schedules and external delivery timelines.

2. Transportation and Distribution Management:

- Manage transportation operations, including selecting carriers, negotiating freight contracts, and managing transportation costs.

- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including transportation, environmental, and safety standards.

- Optimize delivery routes and methods to reduce transportation costs and lead times.

3. Team Leadership and Development:

- Lead and manage a team of logistics coordinators, custom officers, and transportation personnel.

- Provide training, performance management, and career development for team members to build a high-performing logistics team.

4. Reporting and Documentation:

- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventories, and logistics operations.

- Prepare regular reports for senior management on logistics performance, issues, and

improvements.

- Ensure compliance with documentation standards for shipments and regulatory

compliance.

5. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

- Ensure that all logistics operations adhere to workplace safety standards and

regulations.

- Monitor and enforce environmental compliance in the handling, transportation, and

disposal of steel products and raw materials.

- Any other duties assigned by the Reporting Head

Essential knowledge and skills

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Familiarity with logistics software, supply chain management systems and SAP

- Strong on negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- In-depth knowledge of UAE transportation laws and industry regulations.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including potential exposure to noise, heat, and heavy machinery.

- Occasional travel to supplier and client sites as needed.

Working Conditions:

- Full-time position with standard working hours, though occasional overtime may be required.

- Office-based, with occasional visits to warehouses, transportation hubs, and manufacturing plants.

Desirable knowledge and skills:

- At least 10 years of experience in logistics management, ideally in the steel or manufacturing industry.

- Proven experience in managing transportation, import of raw material by air, sea and road, and inventory systems.

- A master's degree or professional certification in logistics will be a plus
