Position: Head of Procurement & Construction

Based in Kolkata and reporting to the CFO/CEO

Role Objective: Establish procurement strategies for acquisition, receiving and tracking of project materials with our management that optimize quality, cost, and timely delivery criteria. Responsible for leading the overall sourcing effort, identifying potential suppliers and conducting negotiations on high-value and strategic categories with a focus on enabling business growth while pursing cost reduction and process streamlining. In addition, responsible for supervising project managers across construction sites to ensure timely completion of projects.

Role:

- As Sourcing & Procurement Head of all materials and contracts for all centers, work collaboratively with our Design and Project teams to coordinate supplier selection, best prices, credit and terms, track supplier performance standards, conduct ongoing evaluation and achieve top line and bottom line profitability of the organization by ensuring cost, time and quality targets are met and to ensure the operational delivery for the organization driving change and improvement.

- Material planning, standard purchase procedures and documents, issue, receive and analyse offers, negotiation with the vendors for best prices, preparing purchase order related documents, follow up for timely delivery of materials, co-ordination with site team etc. handling multiple projects.

- Supervise project managers across construction sites to ensure timely completion of projects and ensure execution bottlenecks are resolved

- Prepare, maintain and review purchasing records, produce management reports, track the status of requisitions, contracts and orders, approve bills for payment, monitor contractor performance, calculate the cost of orders, assign invoices to the appropriate accounts, and monitor in-house inventory transfer for project consumption.

- Responsible for agreeing terms and negotiating a cost effective and efficient service whilst maintaining high quality standards.

- Management of business process outsourcing activities

- Market intelligence, Market survey, Forecasting, Budgeting, development of benchmarks and scorecards to be used for strict control and continuous improvement

- Develop a real time computerised data base of all suppliers & contractors

- Organizing and supervising the shipping and receiving of all materials

- Ensure Compliance with appropriate accounting and reporting procedures, also ensuring sound business practices and quality controls at all project sites and across company.

- Work closely with the Engineering/Project and Legal Departments for technical and legal review / validation of vendor contracts.

- Enforcing contractual obligations and settlements in case of any defaults.

- Foster a culture of collaboration, create and maintain productive relationships with the internal stakeholders and across different project teams.
