Job Purpose:

To set the manufacturing and performance targets, arrange the resources, direct and ensure efficient and cost effective mining and plant operation. Ensure completion of on-going projects on the budgeted cost and time schedule. Fulfil all the statutory requirements and best utilization of available resources. Contribute to the strategies for benchmarked performance and improvements to meet marketing demand for quantity, quality and delivery of product.


Key Accountabilities:
 
Description Key Performance Indicators

Project Execution & Management

Review and ensure availability of all resources to meet project progress.

- Review Project Progress on daily basis.

- Discuss with Contractor & internal team to complete the project as per timeline.

- Review and ensure safety during project exefcution.

Plant Optimization: 

Evolve strategy, develop and ensure implementation to enhance capacity and improve productivity norms to achieve assigned CVA targets of the unit Review and analyze past performance for the unit as well as competitors and identify areas for improvement.

- Set new norms for all performance parameters base3d on improvements planned.

- Evolve 3 years operational and capex plan and budget for Management sanction.

- Review and ensure time bound implementation of capex and other improvement plants.

- Ensure submission of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual MIS reports for Management review.

People Management:

Direct and ensure effective management of people to ensure leadership skills and development of motivated and performance oriented workforce. - Review Organization structure for effective human resource utilization.

- Review manpower deployment including Contract labour and plan benchmark improvements in manpower productivity.

- Review performance of people and plan for training skill development and external exposure.

Review reward and recognition system.

- Review, approve and ensure implementation of actions for improving Organization Health.

- Plan career and succession planning for key positions

Safety, Health and Environment Management

Ensure effective implementation and management of environment, health and safety measures in compliance with Govt. policies and legislation to achieve zero accidents and pollution free environment Promote best practices in safety, hygiene and Environmental Management.

- Review and plan for improvements.

- Guide and provide resources for improvements

Audit and Legal Compliance: 

Ensure adherence to statutory requirements related to all aspects of plant activities Review and ensure compliance of Audit reports and all statutory and Regulatory requirements.

- Keep updated the knowledge of changes in audit and statutory requirements.

Industrial relations: 

Direct and manage Industrial relations, so as to ensure constructive work environment and protect units interests - Ensure effective grievance redressal.

- Establish channels for two-way communication with employees/Unions.

- Establish harmonious relations with Government Officials and Political bodies.

Cost Management

Ensure effective cost management to minimize variable cost and fixed cost and maintain financial discipline and plan for benchmarked improvements - Review and guide for improvements on key performance parameters like power consumption, fuel consumption, working capital, etc.

- Review and guide for improvements on key cost drivers through Monthly Performance review Meeting.

- Benchmark key performance parameters and cost drivers with the plants within the business, in the cluster, best in the industry and guide for improvement actions.

System Management: 

Promote and ensure effective implementation of world-class systems and their integrations to achieve system perfection Guide and provide resource for effective implementation of world-class systems like WCM, TQM, ISO, EMS, etc. and review progress of implementation.

- Review and guide to enhance operational systems and process.

- Exposure to people on new developments in systems.

- Promote usage of IT.

Public Relations: 

- Direct facilitate and ensure effective relationship with local Govt. and adjoining Community. Maintain good rapport with Govt. authorities and public at large.

- Guide and provide support for Community Development activities.
