Head - Research & Development - Alloys/Powdered Metals (15-30 yrs)
Position Title : R&D Head
Location : Kanpur
Reporting Manager : Director
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage and direct research and development programs to meet organizational needs and capitalize on potential new products.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
- Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Develops and implements research and development procedures and techniques. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Generate prescribed instructions and procedures for R&D Engineers.
- Assist in the development of products and procedures.
- Record required data from measurements and observations.
- Write reports as required.
- Train others in processes and procedures.
- Maintain the confidentiality of India Thermit, data procedures and processes.
- Chair and participate in design reviews, assuring that products meet the overall design objectives and are producible, have no safety flaws and are saleable.
- Oversee the manufacturing of prototypes, managing the overall project so that all required prototypes components are available to meet project schedules.
- Develop and conduct test procedures to validate concepts, direct and coordinate testing.
Key Skills & Competencies :
- Experience of ISO systems and accreditation
- Expert abilities in influencing and collaborating in order to maximize effectiveness in the organization
- Commercial astuteness - commercial awareness
- Ability to lead, motivate and energize people to co-operate and perform to well defined action plans
- Change management - ability to operate in a dynamic environment and act as agent of change within the organization and be a strong influencer
Qualification & Past Experience :
- B.E. in Metallurgy is a must with preference towards M. Tech
- 15 years of R&D work experience in Alloys or powdered metals
