Head - Supply Chain - FMCG (15-18 yrs)
Position Summary :
This position will lead supply chain management including, but not limited to, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, material forecasting, capacity planning and sourcing, master scheduling, inventory control and financial costing, as necessary for JIT materials support to Sales. This position will provide leadership and direction on a cross functional basis.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain Management :
Adapt at Strategic Planning, Implementing and monitoring the Operations of Supply Chain. Derive and Implement Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure a Smoother Operation for entire Supply Chain. Responsible for Inward Logistics to ensure no material Shortages and hence no Production Shortfalls and Outward Logistics for ensuring deliveries of Finished Goods to all Markets as per commitment.
- Production, Planning & Control :
Finalise SKU wise production plan for the next month depending upon Forecast for the next month sale from all Branches collated by Sales & Marketing Dept. by date to be provided of current month. Monthly production plan bifurcated into Weekly Production priorities and then spaced out in three days Rolling Production plans. (Run MRP through SAP so as to get entire material requirements based upon this production plan- please modify according to our requirement )
- Warehousing, Logistics, Distribution & Indirect Taxation :
Overseeing and coordinating a streamlined logistics functions to ensure timely dispatch of Finished Goods and well timed deliveries at destinations / branches as per allocation. Monitored and analyzed the performance of Transporters related to Cost, Quality and Delivery norms including Negotiating Cost and Service levels and Sign yearly Contracts. Develop business partners so as to strengthen Organisational Requirements in terms of Quality, Service & Delivery.
- Materials Planning and Procurement :
Procure imported and domestic materials. Derive 6 months rolling plan for imported materials and 3 months rolling plan for domestic procured materials depending upon SKU wise production plans finalised. Release schedules to vendors basis their respective capacities to deliver keeping in mind the Bottle Necks in Operations & Processes.
- Inventory Management & Stores Function :
Streamline inventory by regularly monitoring the availability of stock and order requisite quantity of products in accordance with Reorder. Reducing the Inventory costs and increasing the ITR. Maintain Inventory in Stores as per Desired Stock Levels. Keep all movement under checks and controls for Job Work Transactions at vendors end by reconciling stocks with each individual vendor at month end.
- Purchasing, Sourcing and Vendor Development :
Component purchases within time and budgeted Costs, developing Reliable Suppliers and vendors for components and job work, sub-contracting and upgrading the suppliers to self certification. Vendors developed for critical components nearby plant location so as to reduce on Overall Lead times and better monitoring in terms of Quality, Quantity & Delivery. All components developed as per Strict Specifications for Raw Materials and Production processes ensured at vendors end so as to get the Right Quality First Time Right.
Other Responsibilities:
- Understand the job specific quality system procedures and processes as defined in the Training Matrix and adhere to the requirements listed in those documents. If any of the procedure or process requirements are unclear or ambiguous, it is the responsibility of the employee to notify his/her supervisor or Quality Assurance
- Maintain corporate confidentiality at all times.
Ideal Candidate :
Professionally qualified (MBA/ specialisation in Logistics) with 15-18 years relevant experience, out of which a minimum 3- 5 years should have been in a Lead Role.
Should have had experience of Multi SKU Industry (company) and exposure to best practices in Logistics .
Previous experience in Demand Planning & Production required.
Experience or exposure in Transformation projects/Shared Services Structure will be an added advantage. Good understanding of PROFIT Centre Concept
