Head - Supply Chain Management - Paint Manufacturer (10-18 yrs)
Our Client a Leading Paint Manufacturing Company is Looking for a "Head - Supply Chain" for Chennai Location.
- The Head - Supply Chain is responsible for directing, managing and coordinating Purchase, inbound and outbound logistics, warehousing and inventory control and distribution of finished products.
- Responsible for forecasting demand, analyzing inventory and troubleshooting issues that can affect supplies
Functional Responsibilities :
Strategy :
- Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with the organizations strategic plan
- Provide strategic recommendation based on cost forecast, market fluctuations, Inventory management
- Define supply chain process and related polices to ensure best practices are followed and to enhance efficiencies
- Ensure ERP functionality is leveraged for all supply chain functions
- Ensure best practices and adherence to business processes within the Function
Supply Chain Operations :
- Design and implement policies for demand planning, purchasing, receiving, inventory management & distribution
- Implement Purchase and stock keeping strategies based on market fluctuations
- Define cost standards and cut-off points for cost at each stage in the entire chain
- Define service level agreements and timelines with standards for each process
- Identify and correct bottlenecks in the entire chain
- Work closely with Production & Sales team to plan and review operational efficiencies
Vendor Development & Management :
- Define robust policies & norms for vendor empanelment process, contracts, negotiations, compliances,
- Build vendor relationships that provide the best quality and value for the company
- Conduct regular vendor audits to ensure quality of products provided
Purchase Operations :
- Create Annual Plan for Purchase, based on Trend Analysis, Sales and Production forecasts
- Oversee supply of materials as per the quality standards by determining re-order levels and lead times of materials
Cost management :
- Ensure cost reduction and standardization in prices offered by vendors
- Planning & budgeting for all the costs within the standard cost framework
Logistics & Distribution Operations :
- Define robust processes on inventory management, minimum & maximum stock availability, warehouse norms, dispatch processes, SLAs with transporters, delivery lead time, Insurance, etc.
- Create standardized packing and dispatch procedures to ensure the product is delivered on time to all warehouses and SKUs
- Develop and maintain logistics system to ensure business needs are met
- Achieve inventory accuracy levels set by the company
- Maintain optimum stock levels in company facilities and outsourced facilities (where company inventory is stored) to deliver on sales requirements, inventory policy and investment limits
MIS & Documentation :
- Cost Statement to be submitted Annually/Quarterly/Monthly/Weekly highlighting difference in projections & actual.
- Oversee and audit documentation & filling within all sub-departments
- Prepare monthly reports highlighting market conditions & merchandise costs
- Implementation and compliances with all quality standards and requirements related to purchase and the way goods to be dispatched and distributed
Financial Responsibilities :
- Create, manage and achieve Supply Chain department's budget
- Forecast of expenses for Supply Chain department
- Responsible for cost control
- Negotiating prices for strategic & high cost resources with suppliers and all service contracts
- Authorizing all payments
Organizational Responsibilities :
- Ensure higher customer satisfaction through effective, timely and quality maintained in the entire dispatch process
- Control costs to achieve and exceed targeted profits
- Ensure smooth flow of operations and coordination in the process from Manufacturing to Sales to Dispatch
People-related Responsibilities :
- Ensure staffing of the Supply Chain team
- Ensure Performance Management System is deployed for the Supply Chain team
- Ensure training and development needs of the Supply Chain team are identified and met
Competencies Required :
- Post Graduate in Operations Management
- Knowledge on Supply Chain Management, SAP System, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management
- Experience in the Chemicals / Paints industry
