Head - Technical Engineering Manager (15-26 yrs)
- The position is responsible for leading an engineering team developing next generation products. recruiting and building high-performance solid-state electronics power conversion vendors and professionals.
- The position will be a manager responsible for the design and development of next generation power conversion technology for Electrical Vehicle (EV) Charging and Renewable (Solar and Battery Electric Storage) Markets.
Responsibilities:
- Lead power electronics engineering team on development of next generation power converters
- Lead a team of talented engineers through product research, architecture, simulation, design, prototype, verification, and validation phases to deliver a world class product to customers
- Ensure engineering best practices and internal development processes are followed by the team.
- Successfully manage engineering resource assignments, priorities, and deadlines
- Lead product specification, design and the modelling of complex power electronics used in power converters.
- Lead the creation of schematics, BOMs, test specifications, and technical documentation.
- Oversee and lead PCB Layout and Mechanical designs.
- Collaborate with other departments and functions to ensure successful product introduction and maintain the product throughout its lifecycle.
- Develop a plan to support milestones and requirements for the growth initiatives.
- Develop a technology acquisition roadmap to support the execution of the product roadmap
- Lead the development of design with independent vendors and testing infrastructure required to support solid state electronics power conversion devices.
- Develop staffing plan to support the corporation's high growth market R&D plan.
Qualifications:
- BS in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or closely related field. MS or PhD would be a plus
- Must have 4-8 years of experience with inverter or power electronics design
- Strong knowledge of power-electronics selection and layout for Thyristors, Si-IGBT and SiC-MOSFET based switching devices and circuits.
- Experienced in designing and architecting the gate drivers for Thyristors, Si-IGBT and SiC-MOSFET inverters.
- Strong knowledge of Bridge Rectifier design and multi-level topology designs. Experienced with optimizing power converter designs, to reduce harmonics.
- Experienced in testing to debug system problems.
- Knowledge of mitigation of EMI/EMC issues with power electronics circuits desired
- Strong mentoring, coaching and leadership skills.
- Practices attentive and active listening; has patience to hear people out.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Skilled in root cause analysis.
