Head - Tool Room (4-8 yrs)
Key Responsibilities:
As the Tool Room Head, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of our tool room and ensuring the smooth functioning of CNC, VMC, and other machining processes. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. - CNC/VMC Programming:- Developing programs for various machining tasks, including roll turning and new product development, by converting CAD drawings to 3D models.
2. - Training and Development: - providing training to personnel in CNC/VMC operations, programming, and machine operation to ensure independence and efficiency.
3. - Tool Management: - Selecting, procuring, and managing tools, ensuring their availability for new products and monitoring tool life for optimization.
4. - Material Procurement:- Planning and procuring raw materials required for existing and new product rolls, shafts, and reels.
5. - Machine Maintenance: - Coordinating the upkeep and maintenance of all machines in the tool room, including CNC, VMC, lathe machines, and tool grinders.
6. - Inventory Management: - maintaining sufficient inventory of tools and materials required in the tool room.
7. - Quality Control: - ensuring the availability of measuring instruments and gauges for product inspection, conducting in-house inspections for chemical composition and dimensional accuracy.
8. - Supplier Management: - developing new suppliers for rolls and conducting regular inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
9. - Workplace Organization: - Implementing and maintaining 5S activities in the department to ensure a clean and organized workspace
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience of more than 4 years in CNC/VMC programming and operations in rolling mill.
- Prior experience of more than 4 years in tool room management is preferred in rolling mill.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
