Imago AI Technologies - System Integrator - Electrical & Mechanical Design (1-10 yrs)
We are looking for someone to lead the design, build, and deployment of our AI system.
We have a great software team of highly qualified engineers who drive our core product capabilities in the areas of advanced analytics and machine learning.
Deploying those highly capable systems into production environments requires advanced mechanical and electrical designs which meet the criteria of customer industrial environments, to include dust protection, wash-down protection, and sanitation concerns. Installations in customer requirements require both direct control of physical systems and integration with industrial automation systems. This role will lead these efforts, performing work in-house and coordinating with existing and new external contractors as required to build and deliver production-grade products.
Primary Job Functions :
- Lead mechanical and electrical design of system.
- Create specifications for AI system components. Manage evaluation and purchasing of required equipment.
- Domestic and international travel to and install AI Systems at customer facilities (commissioning, testing, integration, optimization).
- Analyze, evaluate, and diagnose equipment problems.
- Build prototype, next-generation systems in our lab.
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
Strong mechanical skills to include :
- CAD design
- Use of hand tools and power tools
- Assembling of factory automation infrastructure
Strong electrical skills to include :
- Troubleshooting of AC and DC industrial power
- Cable assembly (crimping, soldering, etc.)
- Basic troubleshooting using a digital multimeter
- Basic knowledge of PLC system programming
- Comfortable with the use of computers. Willing to learn basic Linux command line operations.
Desired Skills / Abilities :
- Experience with food processing facilities is a plus
- Machine shop
- Industrial pneumatic systems
- Machine vision
- BS in Automation Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
