Job Title : Instrumentation Engineer DRP 1 & 2

Position Title : Engineer

Department & Section : E & AM /DRP 1 & 2

Direct Manager : Head of DRP 1

Working Relationships (internal):

- Head of E&A-DR Plant (Reports all maintenance matters related to the section and obtains policy guidelines and instructions).

- Day Shift Supervisor, Technicians and other E&A supervisors in Workshop and DR plant (Regular review of maintenance records, discuss maintenance plans, deliver proper guidance and discuss various issues related to the section in line with company policies).

- Other Supervisors in DR plant (Ongoing contact with Main

Substation, Mechanical Maintenance, Production, and Utilities).

Working Relationships (external)

- Mill Builder (Danieli, HYL)

- Various Instrumentation Systems sup(Siemens, Danieli)

General Summary

Responsible for leading a team of Supervisor and technicians during the day shift carrying out Instrumentation Maintenance function in Instrumentation Workshop to ensure that corrective and preventative maintenance activities of Instruments are performed to the correct standard and in a safe timely manner so that plant utilization is maximized at minimum cost. Responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and/or maintaining instrumentation equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes related to various plants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities)

- Project participation: Preparation of instrument drawings, datasheets, I/O wiring diagrams, P&IDs,specifications, calculations, chart and graphs. Review and approve detail design of instrumentation control systems.

- Workshop Management: To manage and direct the services of the Instrumentation workshop to provide a comprehensive range of support services to the plants assets.

- Work Supervision: Lead and execute the maintenance programs as per planning schedule for various workshop activities.

- Work Planning: To identify obsolete equipment and develop repair strategies for corrective action in coordination with Engineering &Technical Support Division. To plan and coordinate maintenance / repair, installation and testing of wide range of major mechanical static equipment.

- Team supervision: Guide, monitor and train own team so that the employees have the appropriate skills and behaviors required to deliver required levels of service to internal customers.

- Analysis and Reporting: Prepare daily reports based upon analysis of previous days activities so that action plans can be developed to address line stoppage and fault analysis issues and hence improve maintenance service to internal customers.

- Spare parts management: Ensure proper spare parts management. Conduct periodical spare parts audits and update availability in line with budgetary guidelines.

-Job Inputting: Ensure that job details are correctly completed and entered onto maintenance systems to ensure that accurate performance trends can be identified and instrumentation maintenance jobs are handled in a timely manner. Ensure that ISO related document and instrument are up to date and as per ISO requirement.

-Performance Review: Review outstanding jobs and trend analyses on a weekly basis to address underlying reasons for service non-compliance and put in place appropriate action plans to effect correction.

-Budgeting: To establish monitor and control budget for central maintenance services activities.

-National Development Program: Assist in developing U.A.E. national trainees / employees to prepare them ready for acquiring targeted positions in line with IDP developed as per company policies.

-Health, Safety & Environment: Directs, maintain and follow ESI Integrated Management System procedures and guide lines.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

- Plant cleanliness: Implements programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.

- Plant expansions: Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.

- Others: Drive start up effort at the facility; therefore, participate in staffing effort, lead spare part procurement effort, lead maintenance training effort, identify/secure critical supply and service agreements, lead the maintenance group during checkout and commissioning of the facility, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities (attributes) required

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The

requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

- Fully conversant with all tools and equipments related to repair jobs in an Instrumentation workshop.

- Fully conversant with preparation of instrument drawings, datasheets, I/O wiring diagrams, P&IDs, specifications, calculations, chart and graphs.

- Fully conversant with instrumentation systems related to steel plant and DRP process.

- Experience with repairs, maintenance and calibration of processing equipment and instruments.

- Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, email, and spreadsheets.

- Ability to work effectively with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably SAP, and instruct others on its operation

Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves) :

- Degree in Instrumentation Engineering.

Any preferred professional training (Nice to have)

- Trained on Instrumentation systems

pertaining to DR plants.

Professional Experience (Must haves)

- In excess of 8 years Instrumentation

- Maintenance experience including 5years as Instrumentation Engineer in a DR or Steel plant.

Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations (Nice to have) :

- Working experience in any of the Middle east countries (familiar with rules and regulations, climatic conditions)

- Health & Safety compliance systems experience.

- Establish and maintain a Computerized Maintenance Management System for tracking work orders, spare parts and maintenance history of plant equipment's

- Individual objectives, training and development plans in place for all direct reports within the timescales of Emirates Steel performance management process.

- Establish and maintain development programs for the UAE national trainees/employees as per company policies.

- Conduct Audit to ensure adherence to plans, policies & procedures.
