Inverter Specialist Manager - Power Electronics (10-16 yrs)
Job Title: Power Conditioning Unit / Inverter Specialist
1. General Description:
As an Inverter specialist, the person should have expertise in fundamental aspects of Central /string inverter design, manufacturing & commissioning. Should have in-depth knowledge of hardware design and module development for Inverters, Analog and digital electronics, micro controllers, hardware/ firmware, communication/ simulation software. The person shall manage to develop ideas, effectively contribute in value engineering, and translate to cost optimized design, review to obtain best cost, best performance and reliability from the inverters
2. Technical Expertise:
He / She shall have profound knowledge in Power electronics & Instrumentation. He should possess strong knowledge in Panel architecture, Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor switching logic in terms of Operational modes (Active, Reactive & Power Factor control), Battery Energy Storage System intervention, etc. He should have expertise in the interaction of Inverter with Photo Voltaic modules, Battery Energy Storage System and grid in terms of overall system view. Should have experience in performing root cause analysis and as a solution provider
Roles & Responsibilities of Inverter Specialist:
1. Good knowledge in understanding of Control logic and simulation of Inverters with Photo Voltaic, Battery & grid
2. Knowledge in Panel architecture, Heat ventilation, Temperature rise calculation.
3. Good knowledge in communication architecture and interface
4. Strong knowledge in Inverter logic's and its operation related to various modes of operation like VAR mode, Power Factor mode etc.
5. Deep understanding on inverter design for Photo Voltaic and Battery, identify Bill Of Material components, understand compliance requirements related to product, identify the suitability of the inverter features for different applications of Photo Voltaic and Battery like ancillary services, response time, ramp rates etc.,
6. Should possess experience in performing Root cause analysis and as a solution provider.
7. Should have expertise in the interaction of inverter with Photo Voltaic modules and transformer, Battery Energy Storage System etc (overall Plant system view)
8. Review of Technical Specifications & Vendor offerings utilizing candidate's in-depth knowledge of hardware design and module development for electric/ hybrid Inverters, power Electronics
/Electrical engineering, Analog and digital electronics, micro controllers, hardware/ firmware, communication/ simulation software,
9. Develop ideas, effectively contribute in value engineering, and translate to cost optimized design, review to obtain best cost, best performance and reliability.
10. Responsible for verification and validation of developed hardware in the intended application
11. Preparation of Factory Acceptance test specification, test plan and review and interpretation of test reports
12. Review of Guidelines for all Operations & Maintenance activities for photovoltaic plants including Mean Time Between Failures Analysis and development of tools for predictive/ preventive maintenance
13. Identifying improvements and new technical solution applicable to inverters
14. Training/ mentoring of team to design, procure, install, commission, maintain, diagnose and repair the inverters and allied equipment.
3. Education & Experience Required:
1. Post-Graduation in Power Systems / Power Electronics / Systems Engineering
2. Minimum 10+ years of experience in the areas of inverter / converter technology in the renewable energy field

- Understanding of requirement management using DOORS or similar software/ tools for requirement analysis and Impact analysis of design change/ considerations.
