Kimberly-Clark Lever - Manager - Quality (8-10 yrs)
POSITION SUMMARY
- This role provides leadership to KCL India Quality Assurance & Product Development (QA & PD) function to meet Kimberly-Clark's World Class Manufacturing Standards.
- The role manages day-to-day activities of the QA & PD Function, ensuring alignment and compliance with Corporate and Regional strategy, policies and practices and external government agencies.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Quality Assurance
- Lead Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure products are manufactured within defined scope of specifications and in alignment with KC norms at the mill and 3rd party manufacturing locations.
- Develop, implement and improve Quality systems at mill and 3rd party manufacturing locations.
- Ensure programs are in place to achieve the target quality objectives.
- Ensure that Quality Indices are achieved as per target set by regional QA team and Management
- Liaison (as single point contact for KCL) with regional, global & local teams to provide overall management to Quality Assurance & Product development activities for Quality decisions.
- Conduct new product approval. Coordinate pre-approval activities with cross functional teams.
- Coordinate process capability studies on line.
- Maintain QA lab as per KC norms at Mill & 3rd party manufacturing locations.
- Liaison with raw material & packaging material suppliers on material Quality issues & material development.
Quality Management System
- Act as Quality Management Representative for KCL India. Ensure mechanism in place to address consumer complaints.
- Ensure process need for the Quality system is established, implemented and maintained.
- Lead new/improved Quality systems implementation and ensure necessary training is given to concerned people to follow them.
- Report to management on the performance of the Quality systems including opportunities for improvement.
- Promote the awareness of Quality and regulatory requirements throughout the organization.
- Act as a trainer for Quality and Product related topics.
- Empowerment to approve or reject plans related to material and product for successfully addressing customer expectations.
- Serve as a liaison with internal and external parties on all matters relating to Quality systems.
Product and Packaging development (PD)
- Coordinate new / modified material trial with India & regional P&TD teams. Maintain documentation for trials. Prepare test plans for special runs. Organize testing for a special run of product.
- Coordinate product / raw material safety clearance with the regional / global team.
- Develop/review raw material specifications (RMS).
- Provide decision on the usage of new & existing materials.
- Support packaging development.
Internal control
- Improve and follow quality related internal controls to ensure that the employees can perform quality procedure effectively.
Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Prepare BOM for finished / semi-finished products; liaison with the commercial team for updating in SAP.
Cost
- Monitor and control the operating overhead cost of QA function.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering with 8 to 10 years of experience
- Experience in FMCG/Consumer Durable/Manufacturing in MNC environment
- Desirable: Leading the Quality Function in current organization
