Lambda Therapeutic Research - Senior Manager - Civil Operations (8-12 yrs)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Manager - Civil Engineering to oversee the maintenance and operations of small multiple facilities. This position will be responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure, buildings, and systems are properly maintained, functional, and compliant with relevant regulations. The successful candidate will manage a team of engineers, contractors, and vendors, ensuring all maintenance operations are executed efficiently and in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Facility Maintenance & Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance and operations of multiple facilities, ensuring all civil infrastructure is functioning optimally.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure long-term functionality and safety of buildings.
- Coordinate facility inspections and provide oversight on preventive maintenance programs.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
2. Project Management:
- Plan, execute, and supervise civil engineering projects related to the facilities, including renovations, upgrades, and expansions.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely project completion.
- Lead and coordinate with external contractors, architects, engineers, and internal teams to ensure project success.
3. Budget & Resource Management:
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions for facilities' needs.
- Monitor and track costs related to repairs, renovations, and maintenance.
- Source and manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality service at competitive rates.
4. Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead a team of maintenance staff, providing mentorship, training, and development opportunities.
- Ensure effective delegation of tasks and responsibilities to team members.
- Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
5. Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary corrective actions for safety hazards and environmental risks.
- Provide guidance on the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
6. Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare detailed reports on the status of facilities, maintenance activities, and budgets for senior management.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure timely reporting of issues, accidents, or non-compliance to the appropriate stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- Experience:
o Minimum 8-10 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role overseeing facilities maintenance and operations.
- Proven experience in managing maintenance teams and projects for small to medium-sized facilities.
Skills :
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural), civil engineering principles, and construction management.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute large-scale maintenance programs.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Budgeting, cost control, and vendor management experience.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, building codes, etc.).
- Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
