Job Description :

Job Purpose :

- Lead and coordinate the electrical design and engineering requirements of all electrical installation works(HT/LT electrical packages) for MW projects to enable quality execution for the project resulting in desired profitability and client satisfaction

Primary Responsibilities :

Strategic

- Contribute towards strengthening technical efficiencies of the Projects vertical on aspects related to HT & LT electrical design such that it reflects client and industry requirements

- Identify benchmark practices and developments in Electrical design and reviews and explore opportunities for its implementation in consultation with the Head - Engineering Design; Ascertain impact of regulations/changes in the same on project design and layout

Financial

- Ensure adherence to operational budget for electrical design for all MW projects

- Minimize contingent liabilities on account of improper electrical design & equipment selection which could lead to project delays and contract infringements

Process

- Analyze survey reports, maps, site assessment reports, drawings, blueprints to plan projects; Gather a thorough understanding of the civil layout and project specifications

- Coordinate with in-house design engineers and external design consultants to review detailed engineering drawings submitted; submit significant observations to the Head, Engineering Design for follow-up

- Lead design of electrical systems [- ] such as control panels, lighting protection, security systems to accurately comply with the standards required and provided by the customers.

- Ensure assistance to pre-sales team in preparation of tender drawings and in finalization of contracts with clients post techno-commercial evaluation of proposals

- Prepare & submit Bill of Quantities and Bill of Materials for electrical packages and work aspects [- ] based on the DPR and discussions with the project planning & co-ordination teams

- Coordinate with the Project Construction teams to ensure implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) for electrical aspects, as per project specifications, with focus on construction quality, alignment to performance specifications and erection procedures

- Provide technical information and drawings to the electrical Site engineer, Certified Electricians and Electricians to ensure proper understanding of initial drawings

- Guide MW Project Construction team in ensuring smooth integration of all electrical packages/ equipment, as per last-agreed design through the development of checklists for sign-off of engineering schematics and related site works

- Lead technical evaluation of electrical sub-contractors / equipment vendors against tender terms; identify deviations from specifications and coordinate with the projects team to resolve them;

- Adhere to the schedule of drawings in line with the DPR of all the projects in the pipeline; Prepare drawings and seek approval from Head- Design engineering

- Assess the feasibility of changes requested for by the client and evaluate constraints involve in the same; Highlight impact of changes with respect to cost, quality, project schedule

- Ensure adoption of modelling techniques such as CAD, As-Built Modeling, 3D modelling etc to enhance the accuracy of engineering design outputs

- Oversee version control and systematic documentation of all electrical designs, plans, etc.

- Develop sourcing database of electrical consultants and service providers for various project stages

People

- Drive a performance-driven culture in the organization by timely monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to the team members

- Enable capability development of self and team members by overseeing implementation of appropriate systems and policies

- Actively participate as a line manager in HR initiatives to drive overall employee engagement and motivation Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone projector regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between them incumbent and competent authority

BE (Electrical)

- M. Tech (Electrical) - Preferred

- Desired Experience - 12-15 years of industry experience with more than 10 years experience as a lead Electrical E&D function for EPC / Project-based organizations

Knowledge & Skills :

- Thorough understanding of the Industry and sector nationally & internationally

- Expert in Electrical design and engineering calculations

- Knowledge of industry-wide / benchmark design practices

- Working knowledge of software-based simulators and CAD-based software for electrical layout mapping (e.g. HYSYS)

- In-depth understanding of technical specifications of equipment and implications for Electrical design

- Knowledge of planning, design, supervision of Electrical packages

- In-depth knowledge and experience in optimization of Electrical designs

Qualification : BTech Electrical

Working Days : 6 Days a Week
