Lead - Mechanical Design (8-15 yrs)
What will you do? (Responsibilities):
Project Management:
- Lead and manage mechanical design projects from concept through production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including industrial designers, electrical engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams.
- Ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
User-Centric Design:
- Incorporate user feedback and ergonomic considerations into the design process.
- Develop innovative and user-friendly mechanical designs that enhance the consumer experience.
- Balance aesthetics with functionality, ensuring products are both visually appealing and practical.
Design and Development:
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Conduct simulations and stress analysis to ensure product durability and performance.
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for product components.
Prototyping and Testing:
- Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts.
- Perform design verification and validation testing to ensure product performance and reliability.
- Analyze test data and implement design improvements as necessary.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, test plans, and reports.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure product quality and reliability.
Continuous Improvement :
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, consumer preferences, and technologies.
- Identify opportunities for design and process improvements.
- Implement best practices in mechanical design and project management.
What do we need? (Requirements):
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in the Consumer Electronics, IoT- Smart appliances, medical devices, Home or Kitchen automation devices.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and completing design projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
- Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and mechanical principles.
- Experience with user-centric design and industrial design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
