Lead Piping Stress Engineer - Stress Analysis (2-7 yrs)
Job Description :
The Piping Stress Engineer is responsible for conducting stress analysis on various types of piping systems, including FPSO/Offshore units/LNGC/FSRU/Cryogenic pipes and exhaust pipes.
They coordinate with clients and teams, provide guidance to junior engineers, review technical documentation, and ensure project requirements are met.
The engineer executes stress analysis using software, prepares stress reports, and marks up stress-related data on isometrics for updating the 3D model.
Additionally, they collaborate with the structural discipline to provide piping loads for the design of pipe-rack/technological structures and foundations. The engineer also prepares the Piping Load Summary as input for structural design.
Desired Characteristics :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Marine Engineering or equivalent recognized engineering qualification, with preference given to additional Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in piping.
- Proficiency in CAESAR II software for stress analysis.
- Understanding of support philosophy and support standards.
- Knowledge and experience with relevant codes and standards such as ASME, API, NEMA, TEMA, ASTM, and IS, as well as various PMC standards.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Familiarity with stress analysis of piping connected to equipment like columns, tanks, exchangers, pumps/compressors/reactors, etc.
- Knowledge of trunnion calculation, flange leakage calculations, and qualification of allowable nozzle loads.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
