Lead/Robot Programmer & Commissioning Engineer - BIW (8-10 yrs)
Job Description :
Location - Ahmedabad Location for first 1-1.5 year (Site allowance will be covered for 1and half years) then Pune for next one year Pune/Bangalore will be base location)
Focus :
- Allen Bradley PLC programming + BIW Lines automation combination
- Kawasaki programming & BiW combination
Main Accountabilities :
- Responsible for on-site robot debugging (including robot system commission, functional program module writing, process debugging and problem handling)
- Manage and monitor project during whole execution period until get FAC.
- Achieving process parameters, body quality & line cycle time for BiW lines including Spot welding, Sealant / dispensing, Roller hemming, Material handling & basic vision application.
- Ability to read electrical & mechanical drawings.
- Vision system measurement and maintenance, and be able to complete a new model introduction robot simulation independently
- Familiar with mechanical principles, electrical components, and circuit diagrams.
- Manage supplier resources (robot programmers) to deliver line buy-off KPIs.
Challenges :
- Travel about 90-95%.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience :
- Strong experience with Kawasaki robots.
- Experience with BiW lines in OEMs & Tier1s.
- Good technical presentation and communication skill.
- Knowledge and experience in ABB robots
- Basic knowledge on Robot software like K-ROSET, Robot studio.
- Exposure to Process simulate, AUTOCAD, CATIA, Solid works.
Candidate Background :
- B.E./Diploma in Paint technology/Chemical engineering/Mechanical
- A minimum of 8-10 years of working experience.
- Self-starter & Team player
- Exposure of working with Automotive customers is an added advantage.
- Experience within a similar role in the automation industry is desirable
- Willingness to travel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated success relating to customers where technical applications and engineering interface are essential to getting product specified.
- Proficiency in Key MS office programs is required (Excel, Outlook, Word & Power point)
- Excellent Communication & Presentation skills, out of box conceptualizing ability
- Spot welding, MIG welding, material handling, sealing, palletizing, roller hemming applications
- Robot I/O setup
- DeviceNet, Ethernet, Profinet network protocol setup.
- Electrical troubleshooting in robot based automation cells.
- Write and modify robot programs according to company standards.
- Simulate robot systems.
- Commission and integrate robots both locally and at customer sites.
- Support customers and resolve issues in the field.
- Configure Robot Controller.
- Simulation (RCS) in the simulation software.
- Develop complete robot programs.
- Verify the feasibility of solutions and processes.
- Find and solve issues before the manufacturing phase.
- Validate cycle time.
- Optimize robot programs and find solutions to reduce cycle time.
- Develop robot programs using teach pendant.
- Download a complete OLP.
- Validate the cycle feasibility defined in the cycle diagrams.
- Optimize weld distribution to improve the cycle time.
- Generate robot safety configurations.
- Ensure compliance with safety and ergonomics regulations.
- Support Virtual Commissioning team during debug phase.
- Customer support and specification analysis.
- Develop technical documentation.
- Interface with Design and Simulation teams to communicate and create solutions.
- Manage Industrial processes and robotic application for automation projects.
- Continuous skill improvement and learning new working methods
