Testing & Validation-Vehicle Engineering

Role:

- Lead the design and development of components pertaining to the BIW of the vehicles to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable driving experience.

Tasks & Accountabilities:

- Lead and oversee the selection and design of the different test tracks and courses for the vehicle tests to ensure that the vehicle displays the expected characteristics during usage by the customer as appropriate for the market

- Ownership of the test benches for the testing of the subsystems at an overall level

- Responsible for driving the on-track tests

- Operating durability test by endurance run on test tracks

- High-load endurance run for testing the power-train components

- On road load simulation for customer-specific use by road endurance run

- Ownership for the extreme climate test in which the interaction and functioning of all vehicle components are tested for the complete vehicle

- Ensure via the relevant mechanism that the tracks (off-road, circular, gravel and dirt, special surfaces, etc.) are maintained to the required standard

- Ensure the faults, failures and the root cause analysis, if any, are communicated to the relevant engineering teams

- Develop protocols for operations and testing to ensure the highest levels of safety and product quality to align with the vision for the product

Skills, Abilities & Know-how:

- Experience with driving the testing benchmark for large automotive organizations

- Working knowledge of data acquisition and test-data collection systems and devices

- Experience and understanding of testing on different tracks and conditions

- Testing background in the following: vehicle motion and cornering stability, aerodynamic parameters, thermal profile and heat dissipation during usage, etc. is required

Education & Experience:

- Mechanical or related fields

- Master's degree is a plus

- 10+ years experience in a relevant senior engineering position

Background:

- Experience with thorough vehicle testing and validation

- Experience with BEV is required

- Understanding of EV operating parameters and abuse environment is required
