Manager - Application Development - Special Fluids/Lubricants (5-7 yrs)

- Perform work requests research program or technical assistance in the field of Special Fluids (hydrocarbon solvents, plasticizers and base oil for lubricants)
- Manage and prioritize daily activities of the team and provide regular updates on the work progress to the Team Leader, R&D organization and internal clients
- Ensure quality of test results and publish memo/technical notes in a timely manner
- Conduct literature survey to develop expertise and scientific knowledge in new applications in fluids business
- Bring new/innovative ideas to domain in charge to maintain Total's leadership position.
- Ensure co-ordination with the external labs whenever outsourced activities required
- Ensure maintenance, metrology and appropriate follow-up of all equipments under responsibility
- Facilitate the development and professional growth of team technicians
- Contribute to Team lead for the preparation of budget and long term plan of special fluids at R&D
- Take into account and coordinate Intellectual Property activities for all projects undertaken
- Interact in a collaborative manner with other team members to accomplish organizational goals; provides ideas to improve organizational and operational efficiency.
- Consider safety is top priority to maintain a safe work environment for self and others.
- Respect and promote Total's HSEQ guidelines to his/her team
Follow the HSEQ management system and keeps the system live by his/her contribution
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
- MSc / MTech Master degree in Chemistry / Chemical science with Min 3-5 years industrial experience
- Very good communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Experience in industrial application development of fluids business is a plus
- Open minded and creative, with high scientific rigor and Team player
- Experience in research& development of base fluid for coatings, rubber process oils, lubricant industries are plus
- Strong knowledge on analytical instruments and techniques such as GC, FTIR, DSC, TGA etc
