Our client is a huge food products conglomerate, leading the processed food business through its range of products, its internationally certified production facilities, the consistency of its quality, and its unmatched expertise in the industry. The company has partnered with a prominent food chain to become one of their biggest suppliers in India. It has a diversified client base across sectors including retail, institutional and QSR clients. It also has an international presence with products exported to Europe, Africa, Middle East, US and Australia.
As a Manager Demand Planning, you will create, maintain and execute demand forecast models for the business by incorporating business intelligence and forecasting information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, operations and other sources.
Key responsibilities are to:
- Create a single demand forecast with input from multiple roles (e.g., sales, marketing, finance and others) within the organization with a consensus forecasting process
- Include causal factors (e.g., weather, natural disasters, and competitor actions) into demand forecasts and to model events (e.g., sales promotions, marketing events, economic activities)
- Develop seasonal demand forecasts and anticipate customer reactions to the sales campaigns
- Determine discounts and price changes
- Conduct Executive Sales and Operations Planning meetings for decisions from management
- Integrate the order management process with the demand planning process
- Use the demand forecast as an input into the sales and operations planning process
- Shape demand using what-if analysis and scenario planning
- Segment demand forecasts based on key product or customer characteristics
- Monitor demand fulfillment
- Use statistical forecasting methods, software tools such as SAP APO or Demand Planner tool like ARIMA
- Report demand metrics across the organization
- Measure order fill rates and customer service levels
- Link demand forecasting and supply planning using a sales and operations planning process
- Continuously improve forecasting techniques, method, and approach
Candidate Profile
- BE/B-Tech. Engineer degree any branch with an MBA in operations (regular/distance) would be preferred
- Six to eight (6-8) years of experience in multiple areas of supply chain including Demand Planning
- Knowledge of ERP (Preferably SAP) and excel proficiency is a must
- Understands business processes end to end
- Able to create systems and processes
- Willing to put in long working hours especially in the initial stages
- Participates in multiple extended communication over phone and mails
- Comfortable with month-end stretch
- Open to regular travel between Ludhiana and Gurgaon
