Position Title : Manager - Distribution Planning

Key Purpose of the Job (Position Summary) :

The position is responsible to ensure the flow of goods and materials, supervise transportation, warehousing and stock control activities in order to facilitate smooth coordination between the various parties involved in the distribution planning to meet service commitments to Replacement or OE business at optimum cost and inventory adherence.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS :

- Ensure reduction in Slow moving Inventory and adherence to inventory norms

- Ensure reduction in stock out rate for 5 star and remaining categories

- Ensure improvement in DC stock out rate measurement

- Ensure monthly & weekly - Route wise Vehicle Requirement Planning

- Review Transportation and warehousing network and ensure optimization

KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Planning :

- Continuously monitor actual production and match it with market requirement and if any change is required, coordinate with the production planner for in-house products

- Take responsibility for the planning and execution of the distribution for the business unit

- Liaison with the exports, shipping and logistics team regarding planning of tyre movement, query resolution regarding customs and excise and planning the type of containers for specific tyres.

- Comply with the customer's schedule by ensuring that dispatch is timely and effective manner.

- Participate in demand and sales forecasting along with the PPC team using trend analysis

- Manage, co-ordinate and control the order cycle and associated information systems

- Liaison and negotiate with customers and suppliers for accurately predicting demand and handle sudden fluctuation

- Preparation and monitoring of daily distribution plan for each location by SKU for in-house and outsourcing unit

- Identify daily dispatch schedule and track status

- Ensure 100% availability of domestic supplies for the domestic business unit

- Ensure Week wise dispatch/reach plan visibility to internal customers

- Track reach to market on a weekly basis and take corrective action in case of any shortfalls

Inventory Management :

- Conduct monthly reconciliation of the stock levels as per the SAP Reports with respect to the actual physical stock available and highlight discrepancies, if any

- Analyse stock movement to identify slow moving items and take steps to reduce slow moving inventory

- Create inventory norms and ensure adherence to the norms

- Analyse the usage to determine inventory level and replenishment point.

- Establish effective inventory control - slow, non-moving & obsolete material, for ensuring ready availability to meet schedules.

Documentation, MIS, Review & Analysis :

- Prepare regular reports on distribution, logistics, warehousing, cost savings, schedule etc.

- Ensure proper record management of distribution related documentation and regular inventory reconciliation reports.

- Create detailed reports on findings of discrepancies in the implementation of plans and the respective actions taken.

Education and Experience Required :

Education :

Any Diploma / Engineering

Preferably MBA Operations

Experience: 3 - 5 years
