Manager - Engineering Procurement - Mining Firm (8-15 yrs)
- Develop, lead and execute engineering procurement strategies
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
- Perform all procurement and contracting activities including pre-qualification, tender management, negotiation and preparation of contracts.
- Develop key relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
- Set policy and guidelines for delivering commercial and cost effective procuring process for the business.
- Provide periodic reporting for management on purchasing, controls and processes.
- To improve PR-PO conversion from last year performance by X%
- Identifying cost improvement areas based on spent analysis of past procurement and current year business plans and ensure implementation of the same.
- Supporting project team for timely execution of all projects
- Bringing cost improvement through value engineering, by reducing consumption and alternate material
- Responsible for vendor management - managing relationships, resolving issues and developing new vendors
- Enhancing skill level of team members and self
Qualification, Experience & Skills :
1. Full time Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Preferably Mechanical Engineer).
2. Relevant experience of 8-10 years in engineering procurement of Capex & Opex items in chemical /steel/Fertilizer/Cement process plants
3. Analytical bent, with excellent engineering knowledge of equipment- s, suppliers/vendor base
4. Demonstrated problem solving skills with experience in working through and around constraints
5. A knack for negotiation and networking (Strong negotiation and relationship management skills)
6. Manufacturing process and cost estimation of Engineering items
7. Strong planning and decision-making skills
