Job Description:

The Fabric Sourcing Manager will play a key role in the supply chain by identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers to ensure the procurement of high-quality fabrics that meet design, quality, and cost requirements. This position requires strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of textile materials, and an ability to build relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing & Vendor Management:

- Identify and onboard fabric suppliers that meet company standards for quality, price, and sustainability.

- Negotiate contracts and terms to achieve cost efficiencies without compromising quality.

- Establish long-term relationships with reliable suppliers while diversifying the vendor base.

Quality Assurance:

- Collaborate with the design and product development teams to ensure fabric specifications align with project requirements.

- Oversee fabric testing processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company expectations.

- Resolve any quality issues or discrepancies with suppliers.

Market & Trend Analysis:

- Stay updated on global fabric trends, new technologies, and market conditions to make informed sourcing decisions.

- Evaluate alternative materials and innovations to support product development goals.

Cost Management:

- Develop and manage the fabric sourcing budget to achieve cost objectives.

- Monitor pricing trends and implement strategies to minimize material costs while maintaining quality.

Operational Coordination:

- Collaborate with production, merchandising, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of fabrics.

- Manage inventory levels to avoid overstocking or shortages.

- Track and report sourcing metrics to stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, or a related field.

- 10+ years of experience in fabric sourcing within the apparel industry.

- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

- Experience working with international suppliers and managing cross-border sourcing.

- Knowledge of ERP systems and fabric procurement software.
