Manager/Head - Industrial & Process Engineering (14-25 yrs)
POSITION SUMMARY:
- The primary objective of an Industrial Engineering Manager is to optimize a company's operations by enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving the quality of operations through effective utilization of Resources through - modern lean, Industry 4.0 initiatives & Process engineering tools.
- This ensures streamlined processes, maximized Productivity, and sustained competitive advantage in the market.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Alignment:
- Ensure Industrial and Process engineering initiatives support both short-term and long-term Business goals.
- Improve plant capacity, production efficiency, and cost-effectiveness through strategic planning.
Project Management:
- Lead and manage new Industrial Engineering projects from concept to implementation, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new Projects into existing operations.
- Develop project timelines, allocate resources effectively, and mitigate risks to ensure project success.
Plant Layout and Process Optimization:
- Develop and maintain agile Layout plans to adapt to evolving operational needs.
- Implement Lean & Process Engineering tools and sustainable engineering practices to optimize plant efficiency and resource utilization.
Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement:
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to minimize waste, improve quality, and optimize production timelines.
- Forecast future capacity needs to meet evolving Production demands effectively.
Cost Control and Process Improvement:
- Monitor Product costs and drive initiatives to reduce them through process optimization and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Continuously refine production methods, tools, and equipment to improve operational efficiency and output quality.
Collaboration with Supply Chain:
- Work closely with supply chain teams to enhance production flow, materials management, and equipment utilization.
- Analyse workflows to minimize waste (time, materials, energy) and establish manpower requirements based on operational needs.
Goal Setting and Performance Tracking:
- Recruit, train, and develop team members to enhance departmental capabilities and overall efficiency.
- Set clear, measurable goals for the team, aligned with business priorities.
- Coach and mentor staff to promote continuous improvement and collaboration across the organization.
Management Reporting on Plant Targets:
- Prepare and deliver presentations on plant performance, efficiency, and target achievement to senior management.
- Provide data-driven insights on key initiatives and offer recommendations for further improvements.
- Collaborate with leadership to set and review plant targets, ensuring alignment with business objectives and continuous performance enhancements.
QUALIFICATION & SKILL-SET:
Years of Experience:
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in leading Industrial & Process Engineering functions in the Manufacturing/ Automotive industry.
Technical/Functional Skills Requirements:
- Ability to apply Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma tools.
- Ability to optimize processes with strategic vision.
- Ability to manage projects effectively with cost and quality orientation.
- Ability to perform data analysis & statistical evaluations with executive presentation.
- Ability to work with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Ability to implement sustainability & energy efficiency practices.
- Ability to ensure health, safety, and compliance.
- Ability to perform cost analysis & budgeting.
- Ability to understand modern technological changes and industry requirements.
