Manager - Logistics - FMCG (4-8 yrs)
Presently we have been retained by - one of our clients seek to hire a Logistics Manager - FMCG. This position will be based in Oman. The role is to implement and evolve the strategic plan for Logistics by providing solutions, policies and best practices that improves the overall performance of the company. Mentor resources to interpret Logistics advance skills to business goals to bridge the gap between Logistics and Business functions. Mentor & Monitor performances and implement any necessary corrective actions.
Key Responsibility Areas (FUNCTIONAL):
- Coordinate with the Business Head Logistics to develop and implement strategic plan for logistics as required for various businesses of Enhance Oman.
- Establish key performance indicators, monitor ongoing performance, and improve performance against set goals.
- Lead the development of pricing strategies and negotiations of price and service levels with internal and external customers.
- Recommend optimal Vehicle, transportation modes, routing, equipment, or Frequency to ensure better productivity.
- Direct inbound / outbound logistics operations team, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety measures, or logistics quality management.
- Supervise the work of Warehouse Manager, Fleet Manager, WH In charge, and Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles.
- Recommend purchase of new or improved technology, such as mechanical / Electrical automated systems.
- Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
Key Responsibility Areas (ORGANISATIONAL):
- Analyze all aspects of logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of storing, picking, transporting products or supplies.
- Overseeing the inventory management process, defining departmental strategies for appropriate inventory levels, and reduce aging material.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with divisions or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping, etc.
- Plan or implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes.
- Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency period.
- Review global, national, or regional transportation standards or logistics systems for ways to improve efficiency or minimize the impact of logistics costs and activities. Identify potential projects to deliver changes and improvements to the supply chain and commission those selected projects.
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems or customer issues.
- Set policies and standards, including determination of health and safety procedure for the handling of goods, and ensure compliance with the regional law.
- Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

The right candidate will be an MBA from a prestigious institute, with a demonstrable track record of 4 to 6 years from Principal FMCG distribution, having worked in a managerial role in logistics, excellent people management skills as well as number crunching and reporting abilities within specified timelines.-
Should be able to manage a warehouse size and number of locations - Seven locations and total area is 100,000 sq mtr. Size of the fleet to be handled - 200 vehicles
