Position: Mechanical Engineering Manager
Location: Pune, India
Business Unit: Engineering Services (OES)
About the Role: As the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage a team of talented mechanical engineers, ensuring the successful execution of all design activities. You will play a crucial role in overseeing critical reviews of mechanical design work and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the Mechanical Engineering team, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project schedules and client requirements.
- Foster strong working relationships with internal teams and external clients and contractors.
- Manage staff performance, training, and development.
- Oversee detailed mechanical design and drafting for projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards and budgets.
- Identify and mitigate mechanical risks, and manage subcontracted work.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to innovation within the team.
- Monitor costs and budgets, providing regular progress reports.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Over 23 years of experience in detailed mechanical engineering design, particularly in water and/or wastewater equipment.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a management role with direct reports.
- Strong understanding of technical standards (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent 3D design software.
