Position : Manager Plant Maintenance - (Tetra Pak operations)

Reporting To - Deputy General Manager- Plant Maintenance

Location - Lagos, Nigeria

Most commercial and financial business is carried out in the central business district situated on the island. This is also where most of the country's commercial banks and financial institutions and major corporations are headquartered. Lagos has one of the highest standards of living as compared to other cities in Nigeria as well as in Africa.

Lagos has a fairly large Indian population with nearly 3500 Indian Students studying in the Indian Language School. Lagos has all essential Indian commodities available (to the extent that you can even get a Nigerian Cook who can cook Indian Food). There are various Hindu Temples, Mosques etc in Lagos.

Scope

Responsibility of ensuring smooth running of assigned machines and taking care of all related maintenance aspect including attending machines breakdowns, providing Leadership and People Management, Process Reviews, etc., Requires minimal supervision., Monitor & Improve efficiency, Monitor & reduce wastage, Implement LLF( look, listen & feel), Implement CTLIG( cleaning, tightening, lubrication, inspection and greasing), Adhere & implement Preventive/Predictive maintenance., Monitor & reduce total downtime & no of breakdowns, Improve on MTTR & MTBF, Reduce R&M cost

Job Specific Comments

- Responsible for overall upkeep, maintenance, smooth running of all Tetra Pak/Combibloc, Processing equipment, Caprisonne and other production related machineries in the production plant.

- On-production problem identification, remedies with minimum downtime of production machineries. Line wise daily follow up of the plant activity both on the job self-action and remote advice and assistance (on phone) when away from the plant.

- Carryout day to day maintenance, if any to ensure elimination of pre and ongoing production hindrances.

- Supply vendor production material testing and development.

- Effective local modification of imported machineries for better and improved functions of same, minimize downtime with drastic cost cutting.

- Pre and post installation and commissioning supervision of Tetra Pak and other aseptic machines. Gradual improvement of installed line performance and efficiency. Rectification of post installation teething problems.

- Production Machine Mechanical Efficiency (MME).

- Periodic download of PLMS data from Tetra Pak FMs. Analysis and identify the cause of production hours losses, packaging material losses and improve upon them.

- Assisting other production areas, engineering, to maintain smooth running of overall plant to achieve daily production target.

- Hands on job, guidance to other fellow engineers, operators, supervisors for maintenance and smooth running of all plant and machineries.

- Optimizing the utilization of resources including, plant & machinery, human resource, etc.

- Controlled use of spare parts, ordering of critical and breakdown parts in consultation with respective hierarchy. Actively working to achieve targeted maintenance cost/1,000 packs.

- Waste control and operational cost control.

- Constant identification of reason for production stoppages and remedies. Critical analysis of day to day production, identifying reasons for same and acting upon them.

- Planned TPMS. Organize, supervise planned/periodical TPMS with Tetra Pak and documentation of the same.

- Production control, Master Schedule Attainment (MSA).

- Safety observation and control.

- Managing and supervising the team.

- Imparting training to team members, building competent, effective, efficient and result oriented team/organization.

- All relevant record keeping and reporting including MIS, daily reporting of activities, problems during shift, action taken to solve problems, pending issues etc.

- Implementation and maintenance of quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies with specific focus on growth, cost reduction and process improvements.

Any other job which may be assigned by the management from time to time.
