Manager - Product Engineering

We are Hiring for our esteemed client dealing into sanitary ware and Ceramics Industry.

Major activities :

- NPD (New Product Development) cycle from Kick-off till Product launch

- Product Development tool knowledge like DFMEAs, Design standards, Design Checklist, Qualification test plan,

- Sound knowledge of manufacturing process like Injection molding, Casting, machining, Sheet metal operations, etc

- Work experience in a profile which involved extensive interaction with internal customers like Manufacturing, Product - Marketing, Sourcing, Quality, etc

- Preparation of CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and documentation needed to define the product design.

- Manpower planning, resource allotment, Project budgeting, Project review presentations, Team reviews

- Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack up

- Product Packaging development

- Prototyping knowledge and experience- all technologies available

- ECN and ECN Management

- Experience in handling global projects

- Specification, usage, testing of material used in furniture for bathroom, kitchen and living room furniture.

- Working with wood & wood substitute materials, wood & wood substitute surface protection materials & treatments.

- Working with wood and wood substitute joining and fastening techniques, hardware, bonding etc.

- Working with decorative application on wood and wood substitute surfaces.

- Create database of Engineering codes and standards for Furniture category (Local, International, Company). Create India - specific standards for company.

- Product migration from other Company markets to India with changes in colour/material finish relevant to India market

- Develop furniture Product testing capability in India

- Create CAD database of all furniture ranges present with Company for future use

- Create supplier base in India and abroad to cater to Product Development needs

- Identify right material basis different application (Substrate, Laminate, Veneer, coatings, etc), define material specs as per geographic availability, create matrix of cost vs. Water resistance, Hardware, fasteners, etc

- Help Product marketing team in creation of warranty guidelines/ cleaning and maintenance instructions with support of Product testing of existing products.

- Create competition bench marking for Bathroom furniture, Wood Raw material suppliers, Kitchen cabinetry categories for use in future

- Need only engineers (mechanical), having good practical knowledge about bathroom furniture or modular kitchen (Diploma holders not acceptable)

- More focus on New Product Development. (Should have led new product development or product engineering before)

- Very strong experience in kitchen/bathroom furniture.

- Domain is must- knowledge (Experience of working with materials like) wood, sheet metals (exp in metal and finish), laminates, plastic, stone, surface treatment etc. which is used for fittings (Should be able to understand which material to use in which application and then design product accordingly)

- Into designing product, application and use of material.

- Create model and program then establish system. (The role involves creating CAD designs and not just mere sketches)

- Requires a person with good interpersonal and communication skills who can represent Company globally.

- Flexible in time and comfortable to travel.

- Team player and can handle and manage a team.

- Gender no bar.

- Should be capable of building engineering portfolio. Will need to coordinate closely with industrial design, marketing, sourcing and product engineering teams.
