Job Description:

Design Planning:

- Gather information from Development clearance, Considerations during RFQ, SOR, technical specification, 2D and 3D data, ECN as submitted by the customer & project kick off meeting.

- Check adequacy of inputs & provide requirements to customer enabling engineering activities.

- Plan for detailed design activities & specify resource / capability requirements to meet customer timeline.

Design & Engineering:

- Carry out review of detailed technical specification, 2D and 3D data, ECN as submitted by the customer and prepare preliminary packaging feasibility and appropriate design options as per approved process

- Ensure compliance of the design with applicable regulatory and environmental guidelines

- Carry out detailed RFQ review and feasibility analysis by undertaking product benchmarking, design options and assumptions and preparation of preliminary BOM. Prepare detailed engineering cost sheets, prototype quantity requirement and resources required

- Create and maintain DFM, DFMEA, DVP&R, BOM, drawings with GD&T, Tolerance stack, Tooling feasibility.

- Identify necessary product design/process changes; get necessary approvals to meet product requirement & communicate to CFT.

- Build prototypes of components and develop test procedures.

- Review product design with Team lead/ CFT/customer & escalate if required to achieve product targets.

Development & Launch:

- Release engineering data (2D, 3D, BOM, mould input sheet, FTG, Process flow, DVP, packaging etc.) into the development process.

- Create, control and maintain release packages and design history files

- Participate in engineering development meetings, program launches with the customer and team

- Check Product / Process performance during tryouts/testing & Validation to co-relate with product design.

Internal operations:

- Continuously improve existing product design to increase customer satisfaction (CI and VA-VE initiatives)

- Gather TGR/TGW during tryouts to Establish the Guidelines.

- Improve skill sets by updating the knowledge on software/product/process.
