Manager - Research & Commercialization - Indian Desserts D2C Brand (5-8 yrs)
Our client is a much loved experimental dessert-caf which turned into a D2C brand. They are known for bringing in a modern twist in authentic Indian sweet tradition, imaginatively reinterpreting a gamut of traditional Indian sweets and mithai in a contemporary and fun format.
Founded in 2020, our client amplified its revenue to 4X times within a year. They are known for reinventing traditional Indian sweets and giving them a hip modern avatar, the brand this time has collaborated with the iconic Parle G biscuit to bring about their latest offering.
As a Research & Commercialization Manager, You will be Creating and implementing a product commercialization and product development playbook with the relevant systems, processes and software as needed for sourcing, production and equipment.
What you will do:
- Ensuring the right Project Management and Coordination of all the activities related to the Product development process from the selection of raw materials, recipe design, lab trials, industrial trials, shelf life study of the finished product, raw material, process and finished good specifications.
- Ensuring the coordination of all the above activities with the stakeholders involved on both the kitchen and business side.
- Ensuring the right level of documentation, quality systems and protocols to support and record the information related to the product development activities.
- Keeping the recipes (and the raw materials) in compliance with the regulatory policies and the legal requirements.
- Liaising with different ingredients manufacturers, flavor houses, third party manufacturers to arrange required ingredients, flavors and equipment for trials as required.
- After product outcome and tasting with core team, sharing feedback to Ingredients manufacturer, flavor houses, third party manufacturers for adjustment.
- Evaluating various production (in-house vs. third party manufacturers) and packaging methodologies as part of the commercialization process.
- Sharing the information with the relevant stakeholders and supporting the budget activities.
- Coordinating with Stores and Purchase for all sourcing and production related requirements.
- Doing regular checks for running products, parameters, machine & equipment outcome and performance.
- Preparation of technology transfer documents for new products, R&D methodology.
- Establishing & Validating the technological Parameters for product development.
- Establishing, Validating and ensuring to align the parameters along with stakeholders.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to help solve production problems.
What you need to have:
- Masters/Bachelors degree in Food Science and Nutrition, Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Food Packaging, Food Engineering or related fields.
- 5-8 years experience in R&D/ Quality/Manufacturing in F&B retail and/or QSR
- Experience in Commercialization & Quality Management
- Experience in Sweet, Savories, Chocolates, Bakery categories preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficient in all technical software and tools as well as excel, word, PowerPoint
