Manager/Senior Manager - CAD Design - Automotive Lighting Sector (8-10 yrs)
We are hiring for one of our clients - a reputed OEM player in the automotive electronics and lighting space - for the role of Manager/Senior Manager - CAD Design. The ideal candidate will lead design, development, and program execution of electronic systems in lighting and FMCD applications, ensuring innovation, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electronics design and development of lighting systems including schematic and BOM preparation
- Perform RFQ analysis and feasibility checks for new product requirements
- Develop zero-based costing based on materials, development, and manufacturing costs
- Select appropriate LEDs and components (microcontrollers, resistors, capacitors, DC-DC converters) as per project needs
- Ensure compliance with AIS/ECE and EMI/EMC safety and performance standards
- Conduct inspection and validation of electronic circuits and sub-assemblies
- Prepare and execute DFMEA, DVP plans, and review documents for sign-off
- Plan and manage prototyping, ensuring timely and functional sample submission in line with customer phases
- Lead APQP and PPAP documentation and maintain master records for all approvals
- Prepare detailed project management plans with clear roles, milestones, and deliverables
- Track and control product development lots (DP, PP, MPT, Pilot, Initial Supply)
- Implement ECNs smoothly into mass production and ensure timeline adherence
- Update BOM and costing in ERP/SAP systems to avoid miscalculations
- Identify alternate vendors and cost-saving opportunities through technical evaluations
- Participate in customer milestone meetings and ensure timely communication across stakeholders
- Identify delays, flag critical project issues, and drive resolution in coordination with cross-functional teams
- Lead a team of 2- 5 engineers, ensuring performance management, training, and growth in alignment with company values.
Requirements:
- Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- 8 to 10 years of experience in automotive electronics, FMCD, or related manufacturing domains
- Proficiency in schematic design, component selection, BOM management, DFMEA/PFMEA
- Working knowledge of AIS/ECE standards, EMI/EMC compliance, and embedded electronics testing
- Strong hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and production handovers
- Expertise in APQP/PPAP documentation and ERP/SAP systems
- Proficiency in design tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership capabilities
The group is currently operating 6-days a week format.
