Reporting to : Deputy General Manager

Job Description :

- Would be responsible for overall Instrumentation activities at Surat site and should be able to lead the team of maintenance engineers and handling the entire plant Instruments maintenance activities.

- Have sound knowledge of DCS and PLC based controlled processes and must be able to do trouble shooting of the same.

- Should have experience in selection of Instrumentation for new plants.

- Knowledge of variable frequency drive, burner management system, and latest process control instrumentation is desirable.

- Attend to breakdown maintenance of Instruments ensuring minimum downtime. Must be able to analyze the root cause of failure and than able to take appropriate corrective action.

- Implement instrument wise preventive maintenance plan within targeted norms for spares consumption and labour utilization. Forecasting the spares requirement and executing maintenance schedules planning for all Instruments.

- Implement instrument calibration plan and ensure it 100 % compliance.

- Planning for shut down maintenance with details of activities, manpower and spare planning with minimum time frame and within given budget.

- Ensure spares planning & control as per budgeted norms.

- Provide technical assistance in vendor development & selection for indigenization of spares.

- Preparation of dept. budgets for material consumption, labour & plant up-gradation in consultation with DGM-Engg.

- Initiate improvement projects and automation to improve process reliability, labour productivity.

- Planning Capital Expenditure and monitoring progress of budgeted jobs, for non recurring, capital and repairs & maintenance expenditure.

- Coordination with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), Service Engineers and monitoring of AMCs.

- Should be familiar with IMS (Integrated management System) ISO/OHSHAS and RC (responsible care) other systems. And ensure the compliance as per system.

Competencies :

- Must be a team player with sharp analytical and problem solving skills

- Must possess superior interpersonal skills required for effective coordination with people at all levels from areas like Production, Purchase.

- Must have good knowledge of MS Office tools.

- Knowledge of SAP ERP system is desirable.

- Candidate should be in a position to handle entire Instrumentation Dept. Position is similar to Instrumentation head.
