The Role : Manager/Sr Manager - Material Strategy (Mechanical Parts)

Purpose :

- Providing strategic direction and driving Materials Strategy Function.

- To ensure that internal processes and metrics are aligned to improve efficiency and reduce cost.

Role expectations :

- Experienced in Materials Strategy Function to identify and develop strategic vendors in terms of technology, capacity, capability, flexibility and quality.

- To identify and develop alternate sources of domestic / overseas vendors.

- Coordinate with Purchase Head to understand the capacity, capability, flexibility & quality of the suppliers.

- Monitoring key raw material items trend in the market and decide procurement strategy for all the plants.

- Review and drive processes & procedures to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies / capacity, reduce cost in procurement of materials.

- Knowledge & ability to work on SAP / MRP control.

- Define & establish quality systems and process with new identified suppliers and monitor sustenance of quality, capacity, capability in initial vendor audit and certification.

- Knowledge & experience in procurement of various commodities - Mechanical Commodities such as Proprietary, Plastics, Fasteners, Raw Materials & Mechanical Imports.

The person for the role :

- Diploma / Graduate / PG in Mechanical/Instrumentation Engineering

- 15 to 20 years of automotive experience in materials function with minimum 5 years in the Managerial capacity.

- Ability to identify alternate sources and ensure vendors are empaneled and scaled up to the company expectations.

- Key skills : Relationship Building With Vendors, Negotiation And Conflict Resolution, Inventory Management, Material Resources Management, Quality Control Analysis, Operations Analysis, Financial Analysis, Data Analysis.
