Position Name : Manager -Technological structures-IM

Locations : Jamshedpur

Responsibilities :

Main purpose :

- Inspection of Steel structures in conveyor galleries, technological structures to understand its health to initiate timely interventions and prevent deterioration in health of such structures

- He will be also responsible for executing and monitoring of inspection parameters for rapid and detailed inspection for any location based on production / environment impact on structure life.

- RCFA analysis of any failure in structures under his control.

This position will report to the Sr Manager - Structural and play a key role in inspection and maintenance of existing facilities.

KEY ACTIVITIES :

Inspection, testing and maintenance of existing facilities :

1. Executing and Monitoring structural inspection requirements based on location and criticality for all areas under him

2. Preparation and review of NDT reports, supervising and monitoring NDT activities, Maintaining of Quality records, Interpretation of standards and codes in drawings

3. Pipeline welding inspection as per API 1104 & ASME B 31.4/31.8 (API 5L X 52/60/65)

4. Mapping of corrosion, vibration issues, sagging, etc for the building structures

5. Welding crack identification in these structures

6. Coordinate Non Destructive Testing (RT, UT, MPI, PT) and inspection, PWHT

7. Preparation of Inspection reports

8. Levelling, alignment, Geometric accuracies related inspection

9. Vibration levels of structure arising out of rotating machinery

Contribute to standardization :

Promote and Participate in development of standard on Inspection, testing and correction action. Also prepare standard for preventive maintenance

Inter-disciplinary co-ordination :

- Support in making ABP for MED Mechanical and ensure for their compliance and corrective actions.

- Execute and Monitor all inspection initiatives to ensure Safety, Quality, timely compliance & check sheet creation and their implementation for reducing unplanned outages in the plant.

- Plan, and execute all shutdowns related inspection / job activities to ensure Safety, Quality, timely compliance & check sheet creation and implementation

- Periodic interaction and communication with special vendors. Mentoring of contractors

- Execute and monitor compliance of all CBM initiatives to ensure Safety, Quality, timely compliance & check sheet creation and their implementation for reducing unplanned outages in the plant.

- Execute and monitor all shutdowns related inspection / job activities to ensure Safety, Quality, timely compliance & check sheet creation and implementation

- Manage and monitor Resource and technical support during breakdown/shutdown. Monitor and review of Breakdown /shutdown response and completion time for respective areas for earliest revival.

- Execute and review changes in SOPs, work instructions and necessary trainings to workforce to eliminate rework.

- Ensure 100% people participation and compiling targets in TQM Initiatives such as SIP's, GB, KM, Suggestions, SGA, TBEM etc.

- Comply and execute planning to meet budget targets

- Implementation and execution of effective technical solutions through critical observations and breakdown avoidance observations to major problems through systematic studies for their respective areas of responsibility & compliance as per SLA

Technology identification and usage :

- Execute and monitor technology and capability enhancement. Implementation and compliance of augmentation plan to improve inspection capabilities.

- Knowledge of STAD PRO design software

- Periodic interaction and communication with special vendors

Safety :

- Ensuring safe work place management and implementing all recommendations related to Safety, Health & Environment initiatives across respective Area, to achieve zero Fatality and limit LTI within the target. Management of SOP- s, Work permit systems and other safety standards at work place. Comply action points

- Conduct timely audit, maintain spares, preparation and Implementation of quality check sheet for pollution control systems and equipment.

Team Building :

- Mentoring supervisory staff and contractor employees. Conduct mass communication periodically

- Imparting training modules.

Primary Skills : Welding, Non Destractive Test (NDT), Inspection

Secondary Skills : Heavy equipment maint in steel plant

Education : B.Tech/B.E.

Branches : Civil, Mechanical

Experience : 3.00 To 5.00 Years

Requirements :

AWS - CWI ( certified welding inspector)

ASNT-SNT-TC_1A Level II

Experience in QA / QC inspection of :

- Structural - construction / NDT/testing

- Piping -- construction / NDT / Hydro test

- Welding - NDT / Visual / Drawing review

- Vibration monitoring of steel structures
