Manufacturing Engineer (3-6 yrs)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide production support to ensure tracking of internal KPI's
- Improving processes in our Wire manufacturing cell
- Interface with internal program managers and external customers to understand a comprehensive knowledge of new products and to address quality issues
- Work with Engineering Technicians and production personnel to optimize and streamline manufacturing processes within a LEAN manufacturing environment
- Learn and support the operational aspects of new and existing equipment
- Partner with other Engineers to develop strategic processing goals and objectives and integrate processes into value streams.
- Develop an expertise in nitinol materials processing
- Follow health, safety and environmental programs for preventative maintenance. Adhere to safety protocols and ensuring that all hazards are properly managed
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering with a minimum of two (2) years of related engineering experience. A Master's degree in an applicable field of study would be an asset.
- Must be capable of performing under the pressure of multiple competing deadlines while maintaining a cooperative and constructive, working relationships with colleagues.
- Possess strong mechanical aptitude, strong math skills, and creative/innovative thinking
- Ability and desire to be hands-on
- Must be capable of applying good manufacturing principles during developmental phase in anticipation of production volumes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, must be capable of communicating clearly and efficiently in a highly technical manufacturing environment
- Experience with nitinol processing and relevant equipment a plus
