Manufacturing Engineer - CAD/CAM (8-15 yrs)

Qualifications and Skills :

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

- Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, preferably in the metal and parts industry, with specific exposure to railways, or oil and gas sector, etc.

- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, forming, and assembly.

- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or API Q1/Q2.

- Proficiency in using CAD/CAM software for process design and optimization.

- Experience with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement tools (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping).

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex issues to propose effective solutions.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

Process Optimization :

- Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in terms of efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

- Develop and implement optimized manufacturing procedures, including process flow diagrams, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

- Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure manufacturability of new products or components.

Production Support :

- Provide technical expertise and support to the production team, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.

- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues, such as equipment malfunctions, quality deviations, and process variations.

- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment failures and maximize uptime.

Quality Assurance :

- Define and enforce quality standards and specifications for metal and parts manufacturing processes.

- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality requirements and industry regulations.

- Collaborate with the quality control team to develop and implement appropriate testing and inspection procedures.

Continuous Improvement :

- Identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and productivity enhancement.

- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement projects.

- Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.

Documentation and Reporting :

- Maintain accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, equipment specifications, and changes implemented.

- Generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress, highlight areas of concern, and recommend corrective actions.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate manufacturing updates, improvements, and challenges effectively.
