Designation : Senior Lead Engineer
Reporting to : Manager
Location : Bangalore, Full Time.
Qualification : Engineering Graduate (Specialized in Mechanical or Production or Industrial Engineering is preferred).
Experience :
10-12 Years of experience in Sourcing.
Position Overview :
- This position is for Marmon's - Water- group. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced sourcing engineer having working experience in Oil & gas Industries & specializing in Heavy fabrication items ( Pressure Vessels, Atmospheric tanks, Skids & Heat Exchangers), off-the-shelf components, Industrial Motors/ Pumps & Instrumentation and Control components.
- Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective solutions for our projects.
- The work assignment is anticipated to be exclusively for Marmon Water Group companies, working closely with Sourcing Manager in US & Europe.
- This position will be hired under Marmon GIC at Bangalore
Key Responsibilities/Functions :
- The Sourcing Engineer is accountable for building and developing a strong and reputable supplier base in India/Global for both low and medium-volume parts/assemblies.
- This will be a - hands on- position requiring the candidate to perform all aspects of sourcing, part development, qualification, and management.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to review project requirements, provide input on fabrication methods, and evaluate the feasibility of off-the-shelf components.
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, support, reliability, availability, production and distribution capabilities, transportation costs, and performance history.
- Stay informed about industry regulations, standards, and best practices in the marketplace that may impact business as it relates to pricing trends and new materials.
- Conduct supplier development by managing performance metrics, communicating performance standards, and active feedback with suppliers. Reporting of performance metrics internally.
- Drive improvement utilizing lean methodologies, ensuring supplier compliance, driving systematic problem solving and process improvements plan to deliver value
- Oversee quality assurance processes, including inspections and tests to verify compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Provide leadership during investigations of major problems.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with supplier partners, fostering collaboration and enabling effective resolution of any supply chain challenges.
- Responsible for leading the solution for supplier component concerns, driving FAIR sample qualification, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) support, supplier component development and approval and supplier cost improvements.
- Must represent a professional, respectful, and courteous manner when interacting with all levels of managers, subordinates, and suppliers.
- Teamwork skills and both written and verbal communication skills are critical.
- Ensure that all corporate and company compliance requirements and policies are followed, together with local legislation.
- Ensure that necessary controls are in place and utilized.
- The position requires both domestic and international travel, though mainly domestic.
Required Qualifications :
- Experienced Sourcing professional who enjoys accomplishing the day-to-day purchasing activities of the role, (minimum 10 - 12 years- experience).
- Working Experience in Oil/Gas industries & Industrial Water tanks will be an added advantage.
- Engineering graduate with a good level of technical competence.
- Well-developed negotiation and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Skilled in supplier operational and relationship management.
- Good understanding of manufacturing methods e.g. fabrication, welding of steel structures, Plastic injection molding and machining.
- Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.
- Good experience of Heavy & Light fabrication (Pressure Vessels, Skids, Tanks & Heat Exchangers), off the shelf components and sub-assemblies.
- Should have experience in secondary processes like Powder Coating& Heat Treatment etc.
- Experience in developing and implementing vendor qualifications.
- Willingness and capability to conduct all aspects of supplier identification, qualification, and management.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality assurance and compliance management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suit.
Nice to have Requirements :
- Experience in supply chain management for local/global customers.
- Certifications such as Six Sigma or Project Management Professional (PMP) are a plus
- Strong business-acumen, ability to plan and think strategically. -
- Experience of handling team of 2.
- Familiar with U.S. and E.U. guidelines and regulations for conducting business
