Mission : Participate, as an individual contributor and Technical Lead in an engineering team, applying sound engineering principles to develop, customize and/or sustain products and services solutions for customer applications.
Tasks :
- Develops new or customized product designs and improves existing technology under the direction of Technical Leads and Product Engineers,
- Assists in verifying and/or applying customer/input requirements to engineering / design activity/output,
- Documents design calculations, tolerance analysis, and concept development or detail design activities,
- Assists in the creation of product documents (e.g., build and/or operating/maintenance manuals),
- Produces technical deliverables such as reports and presentations for the Supervisor, Technical Leads and Product/Project Engineers,
- Produces technical deliverables (e.g., 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, test reports, analysis reports, etc.) for manufacturing, other Technical Leads, Product Engineers, and other necessary parties,
- Independently carries out component and subassembly design tasks and produces test plans for the designs,
- Works with Manufacturers and Technicians to identify production and assembly problems and provide corrective actions,
- Communicates schedule, progress, and status to the Supervisor, Project Engineer or other Constituency,
- Assists with prototype assemblies and/or Performs design verification tests, as needed,
- Oversees validation processes for new or custom products, as needed,
- Gains a working knowledge of all aspects of assigned technologies,
- Initiates and/or Facilitates engineering change processes,
- Sets up and carries out component, subassembly, and assembly verification tests, as needed,
- Supports new or custom products through manufacturing, verification and validation phases, as needed,
- Documents and validates improvements for Engineering Change or Production Release, as needed.
Knowledge, skills & abilities required :
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering,
- 3 to 8 years of engineering experience,
- Proficient skills in 3D modeling, tolerance analysis, GD&T, FEA, DFMEA, manufacturing processes, problem solving tools, and machine design principles,
- Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., DFM/A, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.),
- Experience with a PLM system and engineering change processes,
- Good written and verbal communication skills,
- Familiarity with FEA software (simulation and ANSYS preferred),
- Demonstrated experience with solid modeling software (e.g., Siemens NX, Solid Works, etc.),
- Intermediate PLM software (e.g. Team Center, Master Control) skills preferred,
- Intermediate MS Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
- 4 to 6 years of experience
- Pressure Vessel industries experience preferred
- 3D/CAD knowledge - Solid works/NX most preferred
- Good communication skills
