Mechanical Design Engineer - Sheet Metal Manufacturing (2-7 yrs)
Job Summary :
- We are seeking a curious and skilled Mechanical Design Engineer (2-3 years experience) to join our team.
- The primary responsibility of this role is to perform reverse engineering tasks on beverage machines, create detailed CAD models using Solidworks, and specialize in sheet metal manufacturing and design.
- The ideal candidate will have a passion for engineering, proficiency in using Solidworks for CAD design, and a deep understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Additionally, experience with electronics/Arduino, beverage machine engineering and previous experience of working in a production environment would be a significant plus
Responsibilities :
1. Disassemble and analyze existing machines to gain a complete understanding of their working principles and components.
2. Propose and implement design modifications and enhancements to optimize machine performance and efficiency.
3. Utilize Solidworks software to create detailed 3D CAD models of sheet metal components and assemblies.
4. Develop accurate technical drawings and specifications, adhering to design requirements, industry standards, and manufacturing processes.
5. Specialize in sheet metal design, ensuring optimized designs for sheet metal fabrication processes (e.g bending, welding, assembly).
6. Conduct tolerance analysis to verify mechanical designs for fit, form, and function, with a focus on sheet metal components.
7. Generate and maintain documentation, such as bill of materials (BOM), design specifications, and engineering change requests (ECR).
8. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate sheet metal materials, finishes, and manufacturing techniques.
9. Perform testing and validation of designed sheet metal components to ensure performance and compliance with design intent.
10. Work in a factory environment, applying knowledge and experience in sheet metal design and fabrication processes.
11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure successful implementation of designs.
