Position Overview: The Mechanical Engineer for the Production Department is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and improvement of mechanical systems, processes, and equipment used in the production process. This role will focus on ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and safety of manufacturing operations. The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production managers, operators, and maintenance staff, to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions that optimize production capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development:

- Design and implement mechanical systems, tools, and equipment for the production line.

- Collaborate with product development teams to design prototypes and create scalable manufacturing solutions.

- Develop and update technical drawings, CAD models, and documentation for production equipment.

Production Support:
 
- Provide technical support to the production team by troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues in machinery and equipment.

- Analyze production problems and recommend effective solutions to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

- Monitor and optimize the performance of mechanical systems and processes to meet production targets.

Process Optimization:

- Continuously evaluate manufacturing processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety.

- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and product quality enhancement.

- Conduct time and motion studies to optimize workflow and resource allocation.

Maintenance & Repair:

- Supervise and assist in the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery.

- Ensure the proper functioning of mechanical equipment by performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance.

- Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule repairs and minimize production disruptions.

Collaboration & Communication:

- Work closely with production supervisors, operators, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth operation and consistent product quality.

- Communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers regarding equipment specifications, performance, and maintenance.

- Provide training and technical guidance to production staff on the use of mechanical systems and equipment.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably in a production or manufacturing environment.

- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment design, and production processes.

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other engineering design tools.

- Familiarity with industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.

- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred:

- Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

- Knowledge of automation systems and PLC programming.

- Familiarity with materials and manufacturing processes used in the industry.

Work Environment:

- The role involves working on the production floor, with occasional office-based work for design and reporting tasks.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on ensuring smooth production operations.
