Mechanical Engineer (5-8 yrs)
Job Description:
- Develop detailed designs and Documentation
- Adherence to Quality System for all design work carried out.
- Work collaboratively with staff located in Pune and other offices to seek detailed understanding of commercial aspects of project (time, cost, warranties)
- To carry out detailed design of the allocated projects for equipment, mechanical and piping portions of the project.
- To develop optimized layouts for plants in collaboration with lead engineers.
- Develop optimized For-Construction Design Documentation including:
- Equipment datasheets
- Detailed component designs,
- Detailed Bills of Materials,
- Equipment, valve, instrument, pipeline lists
- Participating in design reviews, ISO audits and customer meetings.
- Liaising with external specialized agencies
- Liaise with external agencies for subcontracted work and ensure that their output meets the requirements and schedules. - 3 D models in special software platforms
- Conducting accurate structural analysis
- Conducting accurate stress analysis - CFD and model studies etc.
- Maintain all records in accordance with quality and document management systems.
- To advise and support the Project Manager (PM) and other project team members in areas of mechanical and detailed design and commissioning throughout all phases of project delivery.
- Attend and participate in internal and external (customer) project meetings and vendor meetings, including meetings held at locations other than offices where required.
- To ensure design review processes are undertaken efficiently and according to agreed budgets, specifications, and schedules.
- Ensure design changes are formally documented as Project Change Request (PCR)
- Inform team leaders, managers, and project teams as soon as any delays to work commitments are identified and seek resolutions.
- Seek to overcome any obstacles to meeting committed deadlines.
- Identify the risks in projects and to notify the PM of their existence and devise mitigation strategy.
Technical Review:
- Attend Design Reviews
- Critical evaluation of the detailed design work undertaken by others in the team.
- Provide feedback on detailed process design work.
- Seek opportunities for improvement
- Continuous Improvement
- Provide solutions for non-conforming products.
- Provide solutions for safety and environmental incidents.
- Contribute to all sales efforts by providing support to Proposals engineers in completing designs, documentation, and costing for Proposals teams.
- Assist in identification improvements and continuous development of development templates, design guidelines, and standard documents.
- Support ongoing technical developments and assist in the identification and development of templates, design guidelines and standard documents.
- Contribute to culture of innovation by seeking and developing innovations.
- Contribute to the innovation committee by making suggestions for improvements.
- Update and maintain systems as required.
- Investigate and close out Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) and NonConformance Report (NCR) issues
Other Tasks:
- Ensure that you are working in a safe manner according to relevant Quality, Health, Safety & Environment legislation, policies and procedures.
- Maintain highly effective working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
- Technical coaching of less experienced team members by explaining technical and commercial terms, concepts and processes.
- Undertake E-Learnings.
- Attend all nominated training programs.
- Technical coaching of less experienced team members by explaining technical and commercial terms, concepts and processes.
- Actively check compliance by other staff to quality system, including saving of all relevant documents and revision control.
- Trouble shooting and provide support to commissioning teams as required
