Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (HVAC/Plumbing/fire fighting) Site-Based Project Manager
Location: Orissa

Job Summary: The Mechanical site-based project manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of HVAC & Plumbing systems installation in a new factory project. They need to coordinate with stakeholders, manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and ensure that HVAC systems meet quality standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project design review, Planning and Coordination:
- Reviewing the design documents and ensuring that the tender documents are in line with the design intent.
- Developing project plans, schedules, and budgets for HVAC system installation in conjunction with the Project Management consultants
- Coordinating with stakeholders, including Epic team, design team, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensuring alignment of HVAC project goals with overall project objectives and timelines.
2. Resource Management:
- Reviewing the resource allocation done by the contractor, including manpower,
equipment, materials, and tools, for HVAC installation activities.
- Monitoring resource utilization, productivity, and efficiency to optimize project
performance.
3. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Overseeing the installation of HVAC & Plumbing systems, including High side and low side, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards
- Implementing quality assurance processes to ensure HVAC systems meet industry
standards, codes, and specifications.
- Conducting inspections, tests, and audits to verify compliance and quality of HVAC
installations.
4. Review Bills:
- Checking line-item wise bills and ensuring that quantities match the implementation.
- Certifying the weekly/monthly bills submitted by the PMC to EPIC.
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing cost-effective solutions
without compromising quality.
5. Risk Management:
- Identifying potential risks and issues related to HVAC installation and developing
mitigation strategies.
- Proactively addressing challenges to minimize project disruptions and delays.
6. Communication and Reporting:
- Communicating regularly with project stakeholders to provide updates on project
progress, milestones, and issues.
- Preparing and presenting project reports, including progress reports, financial
reports, and risk assessments.
7. Safety and Compliance:
- Enforcing safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for
HVAC installation teams.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and
safety regulations.
8. Client Relationship Management:
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders by addressing
their needs, concerns, and expectations.
- Ensuring all feedback given by the design team and EPIC team is implemented.
9. Commissioning and Testing: Participating in the commissioning and testing of HVAC systems to ensure proper functionality, performance, and integration with building automation systems.
10. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Addressing technical issues, troubleshooting
HVAC systems, and coordinating with maintenance teams to ensure ongoing performance and reliability.
11. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed records of HVAC work, including installation progress, test results, as-built drawings, equipment manuals, and warranties.
- Providing regular reports to project stakeholders and management.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
- Relevant experience in HVAC/Plumbing/fire fighting & project management,
preferably in industrial or commercial construction projects.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, codes, standards, and best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure in a fast- paced construction environment.
