Working Relationships (internal):

- Working in Rolling Mill

- To lead Rolling Mill Mechanical Maintenance Team

- Support Departmental Manger Mechanical Maintenance & Workshop

General Summary

Providing engineering advice and front-line technical support to Rolling Mill Mechanical maintenance team to ensure smooth operation of mill (minimize down time and increase the mill availability & consumption of spares with cost consciousness).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and Supervision :

- Develop a highly competent and motivated work force, Prepare staff reports, task and Targets, development plan, training and leave schedules.

- Prepare maintenance plans for all mechanical equipments of Material Handling in coordination with the planning section.

- Discuss operations problems and optimizations with operations department in coordination with the Departmental Manager Rolling Mills

- To lead, develop, train and evaluate Rolling Mills maintenance team (instruction and guidance to Supervisor, Sr. Technician & Technician)

Budgeting & Costing :

- Responsible for preparing & proposing accurate annual budgets for management approval to implement the operational plan effectively and managing maintenance activities within the allocated budgetary provisions to ensure cost effectiveness.Planning for Contingency:

- Responsible for planning and execution of scheduled Preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and major repairs to optimize production & reduce downtime.

- Responsible for trouble shooting during breakdowns all related equipment and facilities.

- Identify frequent equipment failure and breakdowns and find out the root cause to solve the problems (if required modify in existing design).

Manage Delivery Targets :

- Manage Rolling Mills section resources and activities and ensure deliveries are met according to agreed tasks and targets in a professional, responsible and cost effective manner.

Safety, Quality & Environment:

- To follow all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental management policies, procedures & also ensure awareness about these in his staff.

Policies and Procedural Implementation:

- Ensure that all Rolling Mills maintenance are inspected, maintained or overhauled in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner, according to best maintenance philosophies, procedures and practices.

Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves)

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from recognised university

Any preferred professional training (Nice to have)

- Effective communication skill.

- Knowledge of IT (MS - Office) & SAP (Plant Maintenance & Material Management).

- Knowledge & Experience of CBM / RCM /TPM.

- Good knowledge in preventive and corrective maintenance of Rolling Mill.

- knowledge of ISO 9000 / 14000 and OHSAS 18000 standard

Professional Experience (Must haves)

- About 6-8 years experience in Mechanical maintenance in long product hot rolling as Maintenance Head or equivalent.

- 5 Years in a Management Position

- 3-4 Years in implementation of engineering principles

- Retain Health, Safety and Environment with Zero accidents incurred by personnel

- Resource Planning for cost for repairs, maintenance and downtime

- Retain availability of mill through ensuring scheduling and preparing equipment's Lead corrective action for prompt clarification, resolutions and results of problems

- Rectification of reviewed equipment with smooth transition and production
