Mechanical Maintenance & Operations Engineer (10-18 yrs)
Key Objective:
As a Mechanical Engineer specializing in rotary equipment in a urea manufacturing plant, your key role responsible for the design, operation, Maintenance, and Optimization of rotary machinery within the urea production facility. This engineer will contribute to ensuring the reliable performance of rotary equipment, such as Compressors, Pumps, Turbines, and rotary dryers, to support the efficient and safe operation of the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review of contract specifications; generation of technical queries / clarifications based on vendor limitations / standard engineering practices in case of FEED / Basic engineering.
- Preparation of Mechanical Reasoning / Supply Specifications / Datasheets in consultation with other disciplines and issuing the complete inquiry to probable vendors via procurement assistance
- Technical scrutiny of vendor offers technical deviations.
- Meetings with all probable vendors for closing of technical clarification, deviations, and preparation of minutes of meetings.
- Preparation of Technical evaluation / analysis, informing technical acceptability of vendor offer for further activity by procurement / projects, procurement assistance during vendor finalization.
- Kick-off-Meeting with successful vendor; Review of vendor drawings / documents up to Final documentation
- Co-ordination (for vendor documentation) with all disciplines during engineering execution phase and with vendors as common focal point
- Attending HAZOP Review meetings along with package vendor (as applicable)
- Preparation of comment resolution to Owner comments and queries.
- Preparation of reply to site queries for machinery troubleshooting during construction and commissioning.
- Heat balance calculations, mass balance in steam & feed water cycle in power plant.
- Provide Technical support for urea and ammonia plant for pre commissioning and commissioning phase.
- Publish overhaul Work Procedures and Inspection and Test Plans for Turbo Machinery and General Rotating Equipment, Supervise Overhauls of Rotating Machinery, ensuring quality of work.
- Provide advice as the Subject Matter Expert on all rotating machines on site.
- Ensure Technical Operating Procedure compliance and Industry Best Practice with regards to Rotating Equipment.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis and publish reports relating to breakdowns and lapses in machine reliability.
- Lead Condition Monitoring programs for Rotating Equipment (Vibration, Tribology and Thermography) and ensure their effective input into site Systematic Maintenance practices.
- Conduct Vibration Analysis and apply Rotor Dynamics principals to diagnose complex issues on Turbomachinery.
- Conduct training for Engineers and Technicians in Rotating Equipment Maintenance and Reliability.
- Assist SAP Specialist to optimise maintenance and spares data.
- Directly manage Critical Rotating Equipment spares across the site to ensure their availability and quality when required.
- Compliance to HESQ procedures. Reliability - Analytical approach to resolve problem and/or support RCFA activities.
- Costs - Support maintaining company's assets through adequate Engineering Asset management practices. Finalize/initiate budget requests.
- Provide Technical support for Technical Ammonium Nitrate plant commissioning. Publish overhaul Work Procedures and Inspection and Test Plans for Turbo Machinery and General Rotating Equipment, Supervise Overhauls of Rotating Machinery, ensuring quality of work.
- Provide advice as the Subject Matter Expert on all rotating machines on site.

Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Relevant experience in mechanical engineering roles, preferably in a urea manufacturing plant or a similar chemical process industry focusing on rotary equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of rotary equipment design, operation, and maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing rotary equipment in industrial settings.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools for equipment design, analysis, and modelling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply engineering principles to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor equipment-related projects.
- Willingness to stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in rotary equipment and urea manufacturing.
